It’s more than 5 million. You need to add another 1 mill for the exit fee of the coastal athletic association, or whatever the hell this rag tag thrown together jumble of a conference, is calling itself today.
-
We better start the GoFundMe 😆 Its going to take some highly motivated and well heeled donors to bite off that 5 million dollar fee, but I guess anything is possible. That door you just heard closing is Delaware leaving the CAA, as I have little doubt they can pony up the 5 million. Then, where does that leave us?

We technically have 19. 16 isn’t really that much. But more importantly we couldn’t pay the fee and draw anywhere the amount needed. Did anyone really think we were? Or should?Makes no sense. If after the magical frisco run we were putting 10k butts in seats and winning 8-9 games a year, It might be something to look into. That obviously did not happen

Towson sponsors 16 total athletic programs. Meets the NCAA minimum of 6 men’s programs. Total scholarships 204 aand above the $6mm threshold . $5mm would have to be generated to pay for the fee. = move to FBS as soon as possible.

It passed https://x.com/zachmckinnell/status/1709629384770929095?s=46&t=nScacl1TWT-KyOwj5stBaw

Just acknowledge we ain’t moving anywhere so turn on the money printers towards a goal of being the best gosh darn fcs program in the country
-
If I’m reading this correctly, in addition to the prohibitive buy in fee, we would also have to have 16 different sports teams, and would have to offer 210 scholarships (over what period of time I’m not sure) which would have to cost 6 million dollars. Do we even have 16 different teams? Probably doesn’t matter, as I don’t see how we would pay the buy in fee. Perhaps I’m missing something, but it would appear we will be relegated to FCS in perpetuity, if this is enacted
-
So, NCAA obviously doesn't want more FCS teams moving up to FCS https://footballscoop.com/news/ncaa-working-to-increase-cost-to-transition-from-fcs-to-fbs#:~:text=Also%2C the transition fee to,from %245%2C000 to %245 million.

Good listen. I checked out Pete's as well as UNH's and the end of Albany's as they touch on the Towson matchup. https://caasports.com/news/2023/10/2/caa-football-coaches-weekly-press-conference-oct-2.aspx

Makes sense as they spent money on buying the rights to the Terps stadium
-
Under Armour Arena ?
-
I don’t believe so haha. Now if Bob Carpenter Center was up for rights, they may.
-
Wonder if Atlas Restaurant Group will buy it. They are buying every property in Baltimore city/county
-
Solid ten year contract. Probably won’t get what we got then (in todays value) for it now. But let it go to the highest bidder!
-
Just judging from the box score, but I believe those two teams are about even. Meanwhile, the Tigers demonstrated they're capable of better than they looked the first four games; indeed, Saturday's result was a quantum leap achievement. Did we play over our heads, or were was the team merely lucky? How we perform vs Albany should prove to be the barometer reading required to gauge this team.

uh oh formerly winless NCAT beat Norfolk State. When we go there for there sellout homecoming it’s not gonna be a cupcake game!

https://x.com/JakeShindel/status/1708893648773882085?s=20 SECU Arena is getting a name change, the contract expired a couple of days ago and they decided not to renew. Will go by TU Arena for now.

I know I gave a bit of gloom and doom report yesterday or a least started out that way. Tarke should be fine physically. The wait for his eligibility is not fun and it would be nice if it happened this week so they can prepare for either scenario. I don’t know if Cole could have helped other than with his shot and I guess in that respect he’d replace Conway. The other freshmen are physically ready, while he’s about 20 pounds away from that optimum weight. We’re still a month away and if the injury improves again, I’ll be more positive about him playing this year at some point. But right now it appears it will be awhile until he gets on the court just to practice with contact.
