I got so excited today and hence I couldn’t wait..
USF:
Bigs...
#10 Kunen (Aussie) shuffles his feet a ton. Very good passer. ultimate glue guy
#34 Jurkatamm (Euro) limited offensively but plays solid D but has trouble with physicality.
#22 Ryuny (Euro) 3pt specialist and good passer.. Must make him bounce it
He’s battled injuries past 2 seasons. When healthy he’s really good.
Kane, Hawthorne, Dusanic are all newcomers Should all see playing time Not much known!
Guards:
#1 Bouyea PG... does it all and has longer arms... very few mistakes can really jump out of the gym
#0 Shabazz... microwave off the bench Defends like a fly.. can’t let him go off
Rishwain & Milstead are transfers Both will be in the rotation milstead should start!
Lost a lot of scoring from last season They play unselfish and will swing that ball around They will want to press a ton when Shabazz & Bouyea are on the floor together and create fast break points off turnovers. Towson has to protect the ball. Dons can get 2-3 steals in a row very fast.
On paper it looks very even Towson & USF bigs have no legit proven scorer as of yet with redshirts and transfers in etc if that makes sense
Both teams have guard depth
USF loves to shoot that 3 ball and of course Todd Golden loves his analytics
I think we are gonna get a nip and tuck affair on Wednesday
Towson has to limit turnovers and in turn be overly aggressive with the Dons who don’t like all the contact being a West Coast team.. run em off the boards
Pat Olsen the Dons radio guy is a friend and told me this is by far the most athletic Dons team in a long time And hence they will want to press and run the floor for easy layups and pull up 3’s
