Man, I remember when our transfers were from UGA, Oklahoma and Oregon....That doesn't mean these guys are not D1 players, but that's not exactly a stellar list of schools that we are poaching from.

I generally agree with these horrifically written comments but at some point enough has to be enough. I’m close to that point. I don’t think he deserves to be fired but if we don’t make the tourney I don’t think his contact should be renewed. He was given a brand new arena with drastically increased facilities. I was in PKs staff as a manager and his whole thing was getting a new arena built. He was told it was going to happen and obviously never was during his tenure. I very much appreciate Skerry getting us out of the depths of hell. But at some point it will be time to move on. I want nothing more than him to make the tourney. He’s a great man by all accounts and he’s been incredible for the program. But there is one thing left to do….

Practice starts this week. Most of the team from last season is back who didn't lose eligibility. That could change after the spring. https://towsontigers.com/sports/football/roster Here are the newcomers I'll be checking out this spring: QB Sean Brown (6-2, 200), Liberty transfer competing with Zack Jackson and Scott Smith for starting job. DB Mike Swain (5-10, 180), Campbell transfer LB Alijah Bivans (5-11, 220), Coffeyville C.C. transfer DL R.J. Evans (6-1, 285), Arkansas-Pine Bluff transfer K/P Caden Williams (6-2, 175) West Florida transfer DL Eddie Myles (6-1, 265), Frostburg transfer DL Tyler Wallace (6-3, 300), Missouri State Western U. Ok, so there's no way this is what this team is going to look like in summer camp. I'd expect at least 5-6 additions and probably a few subtractions. It happens when a new coaching staff takes over, but it's beyond strange that a 6-5 team with a new staff has so few changes. Again, it always goes back to QB1 and if Brown is the answer, great. If not, they will need to go shopping again. I also think they need more playmakers on both sides of the ball. It appears that they will play a 3-3-5 like West Virginia, though that won't be a huge difference with most teams using five DBs against passing offenses. Total speculation depth chart QB Sean Brown, Scott Smith, Z. Jackson, R. Holmes (not sure if Nathan Kent is still on roster. If he is, he's the 4th. Holmes might change position to DB or WR). WR DK James, Brady McElhaney, Matthew Akuchie, redshirt freshmen Jonathan Badu (5-8, 170) and Ke'Mari Taylor (5-11, 180). WR Isaiah Perkins, Jabari Allen (if he returns from injury) WR Daniel Thompson, Sam Reynolds (could play RB), Lukas Londono RB Jo Bangda (5-10, 230), Devin Matthews (5-9, 215), Curtis Murray (5-10, 190), D'Aago Hunter (5-6, 160), Sabias Folley (5-11, 235) TE Malik Jackson (6-3, 235), Griffin Patterson (6-5, 230), Devin Gill (6-4, 240, juco transfer didn't play last season). OT Floridan Staehler (6-8, 290), Jean Germain (6-6, 355), Josh Roberts (6-7, 325, Lafayette transfer who might have one year left), Alex Desire (6-4, 310, versatile swing man) G Ralph Paige Jr., (6-3, 305), Mathias Adjingbaruk (6-3, 325), (O-line desperately needs a left tackle. Germain getting back in the mix and in shape would be a big addition since he can play guard or tackle. They added KJ Brooks (6-3, 290), Ian Markham-Miller (6-3, 300), but both are freshmen) C Joden Nelson (6-4, 290), Paige Defense NG Ernie Smith (6-2, 285), R.J. Evans (6-1, 285) DT Tylen Wallace (6-3, 300), Eddie Myles (6-1, 265) DT Jesus Gibbs (6-4, 295), Oly Okombi (6-1, 275) Edge/OLB Grad student Makye Smith (6-1, 240), r-freshman Elijah Tarleton (6-3, 240), r-freshman Jordan Sampson (6-4, 245) (Great to have Gibbs back but need depth. Added freshmen Shamir Boyd (6-2, 290), Rion Roseborough (6-2, 315) who will be there in the fall). ILB Mason Woods (6-0, 220) ILB Alijah Bivens (5-11, 220), (not a lot of experience here. Great to have Woods back, should be a star on this defense. Will add a transfer or two to this position. Forgot to add Okombi.). Bandit Daniel Raymond (6-0, 215), Evan Rutkowski (6-2, 210) S Xavier Terry (5-10, 190), r-freshman RJ Chapman (6-0, 180) S Dorian Davis (6-0, 190), Mike Swain (5-10, 180) CB Grad Robert Javier (6-1, 195), Shafeek Smith (5-10, 175) CB Sean Tucker (6-0, 170), Grad Charles Peoples (6-0, 180)

I loved the Pat Kennedy hire when it happened and I really appreciated the fact that he helped this Athletic Department figure out a lot of things they were doing wrong. It set the stage for what Pat Skerry has been able to do. Kennedy was also awesome at Iona, Florida State and early on at DePaul. However, from the 2000-01 season at DePaul all the way through Montana (where he did have the resources to win that conference) and his Towson run things went downhill pretty quickly. I remember thinking when Kennedy left, we just aren't going to ever find anyone to turn around this sinking ship. I credit Mike Waddell for being pretty plugged in to the assistant coaching camp and circuit, which was a clique a lot of younger ADs were around and used to cultivate young coaching talent. Skerry was definitely a good up and coming coach when we got him and I really appreciated that. I think Griggey20 said it best. Talking about firing Skerry right now doesn't make much sense, but there can't be much of a drop off and we can't accept anything less than continuing to make progress to trying to get to the NCAA Tournament (I hope I didn't take what you said out of context). One reason why I was hesitant to look at other coaches in the past in football and basketball is I just didn't trust the AD in place to do it very well. I am glad Eigonbrot made the football hire and not Leonard, and I do trust him to figure out what to do based on how Skerry performs in the next year or so. I actually am optimistic that Skerry has figured out some things the last couple of years, but I am extremely interested to see what he gets out of the portal this offseason, because it is an important part in not letting this program take a step back.

That quick release 3 is intriguing to many teams it looks. Can we institute a transfer fee going forward like they do in soccer? We need a new revenue stream.

Probably not but he’s not an NBA player like his father. He played at GW and wasn’t great there

They had a nice year but lost at home in the championship to a 7 seed. Two things can happen, and be good then bad. Exceeded expectations but didn’t win the big one. End of story.

He has won a lot of games in conference and against bad teams, but in typical towson fashion we can’t seem to win the big games. This year I will cut him some slack for not getting it done in the tourney, CofC is on a team of destiny run and with 30 straight wins I don’t think any one in the CAA tourney was gonna beat Charleston. I also agree give him a mulligan on the first 1-31 season. Hard to recruit guys to come to a losing program, that can’t make the tournament because other guys did bad academically, and play in a dimly lit depressing towson center. I think we gotta stick it out with Skerry for a few more years. The grass may not be greener with a new coach

ok....so your comment of "research", got my (albeit tiny) brain thinking....and consulting professor Google (plse let me know if the following research is off; i mean dat) Towson hoops: 1979/80 - now.....44 years Div 1 hoops. Have we always been D1? i think so. sucks no NCAA tournament; we are part of a shitty trivia question im sure 572-738 43% #losers 79-83, Agnoti in 4 seasons = .250% 83-98 Traux, 14 seasons = .499% 97-01 Jaskulski 4 seasons = .327% 02-04 Hunt 3 seasons (why so fast?) = .276% 05-11 kennedy 7 seasons = .330% (ran into, probation? WTF) 11-23 Skerry 12 seasons = .511% so... i'm trying to figure out why this group * (*well, like 4-5 sad lads) wanna run the guy w/ the best record, EVER, outta the school. SMH. 1-31 to 18-13; is the GREATEST turnaround in the history of D1 basketball? is this still true/still stand? WTF? helloooooo towson, not UCLA then i peel da onion a bit more and say....WTF. if you eliminate Skerry year 1 (1-31) (ya know, the year they were on PROBATION) (pretty sure that has practice hr restrictions/ recruiting restrictions...thats on the "other/previous pat" btw -)....and eliminate the covid year ( maybe a stretch - but....work wit me, as the players ALL got a muligan on Covid, what if this staff did too?) (4-14)......i'm no math major -doesnt skerry & this staff record become like 75% ? can someone plse fact check this? year 1 out, covid out? and.......75% ? WTF? if this is true (and again, I think year 1 100% should be out....and global pandemic thingy kinda real, but i get everyone had that -so im 50/50).... shouldnt you guys be building a fcuking statue (albeit short one) for SKerry. are y'all insane? i think these numbers check out. look, im bias to teams dat WIN consistently , play real defense, play hard and rebound... get in the mix (almost) EVERY year, and have a chance....a yearly chance!( I guess some don't give a shiat about consistency, and it's ncaa tournament or nothing - bring me da shiny toy. I like shiny things too, but this program was a JOKE before this group. A F*cKING JOKE., no consistency. Seriously, a joke. https://grantland.com/features/visit-worst-team-men-college-basketball/ Now, ask any coach, player, fan of the CAA what they think about playing Towson NOW (and im even not talking about graduation rate, autism acceptance and other stuff that never existed prior to) . i know this is a futile post - haters gonna hate. "we havent danced, blahblha" ....coach has takin us as far as he can (lol, where ya thinking you are going w/out him?) but im curious (not really) to what said haters think if they look (really )looked at the numbers?; again....this aint ever gonna be Gonzaga. who da fcuk is gonna do better? this aint a destination job. 100% sucks we aint been dancing, but i dont get da lack of self awareness. fire da coach i say IF you can get phil jackson, rick pitino, dean smith, (or their budgets #NIL)...but otherwise; as my grandfather said, "they actually made chicken salad, outta chicken shit". i'm shocked (not really, #poopinpants message boards love to complain, see kentucky lol)) the 4-5 sadlads just dont get it. ....y'all just dont get it (yep, you 2 really end of day) 2012 & tualum hang out? onto the portal........onto next year.....hope NT & CH cash big checks ballin. #may....CT?....conway! loved the journey this year, bummed wit the end. but....I can still see the forest thru da trees/idiots

So you should just forget that they ever had a successful season because they stunk on Sunday? Of course, they deserve the criticism but if you watched the game, Monmouth couldn't f-ing miss. They played a perfect game and deserve all the kudos. My only criticism was that we didn't press earlier. Ten years ago this program was irrelevant. What Coach Richardson and Harper have done has been fantastic. I'm not going to call them chokers because I never thought they were that good to begin with, but you guys do you. Keep adding the SOT moniker for successful teams. SOT was good for when every (major) program stunk.

One team ranked below Towson in the preseason coaches poll (NC A&T) and we go out and lose two of three to start the conference season. As everyone said, underfunded with no expectations.
