One last scattered thought, I revisited Jason Gibson’s thread from last Spring. Those DC hoop insiders were dead on saying “schools will be kicking themselves for overlooking him”. Watching his HS videos, he’s added weight and muscle from then. As this season progressed, he kept getting better. I was unaware he teamed with Nova’s Saddiq Bey 2 years ago. Can’t wait for this weekend and next season! Go Tigers!

Helluva win! I thought Gibson could be special down the road. And Betrand keeps stepping up. I thought we had a shot today, seems we’ve had some big wins down there. Wish I wasn’t 5+ hours away, would love to see the guys from ‘89-90. If Kurk doesn’t go 1-12 or whatever against Lafayette, we would’ve gone 3 yrs in a row.

The Skerry regime has brought us a number of good players, but rarely those who can lead. PG’s are usually your leaders, and he’s been abominable at recruiting them. His best PG was 6-8 and had a cup of coffee in the league. His juco PGs have been a failure. Without a good leader (PG), we’ll continue to underachieve. We’re just 5 guys on the court, not a TEAM. He’s either not recruiting the right guys and/or not coaching them. I must admit that for all his struggles, Gibson at least has the look of potential.

I was screaming at my tv also. Then I had a few IPA’s and everything’s fine. I’ve been a fan since ‘83. Yes, it stinks but “once a tiger always a tiger”. Unless you witnessed Truax’s early years, Jaz, Hunt, Kennedy ... I mean we were BAD. It sucks and we should be 2-0 vs the MAC. As for Gibson, I think he’ll be pretty good down the road. Keep it up, I love reading this stuff. This March is the 30 year anniversary. Do you believe in miracles?

I wish. Last year, I retired to the Finger Lakes, NY (FLX) from Anne Arundel County. ‘84 grad, I’ll be checking out the guys next Sunday at Cornell.

Couldn’t believe we were hanging around (within 10-15), despite playing terribly. 3 made bunnies and 4-5 free throws and we’re within 6 or so. Encouraging to play that bad and still kinda be in it. Years ago, we would’ve lost by 30. And did anyone see Dennis. He played 25 minutes.
