  1. I guess you can't expect too much from these type of interviews.  Our softball team could only hope they could get the soft lollipop pitches/questions David asked Steve.  I did learn a few things some good... the fact that they are adding 10 scholarships to be used across some of our other programs and some bad... that this David dude to pleasure admitting he helped bring Skerry to Towson.  I would assume he is not on the Pat must go bandwagon!

  2. STOP!  I am begging you PLEASE STOP!  I used to work for a certain east coast MLB team that during a long stretch of not being successful used a talking point one off season of "We had the 4th best record in the National League last season!"  They still missed the playoffs because this was the mid-2000's and only the division winners and one wild card team made the playoffs.  The link to this post screams the same thing.  "Hey look what we have done."  The answer is NOTHING because you have not made the "playoffs."  Not to mention it is strange who in the DMV they did and did not include.

At the risk of getting excoriated by 1 or 2 people on the board, this is the natural evolution of things. Kelsey stayed a few years at C of C, got them to the tournament 2X, used C of C as a lily pad to a bigger job. And C of C will simply go out and try to get the next Kelsey. Rinse, wash, repeat.

Everyone on this board would sign up to have such a problem.

Does he flop and act like a victim like his twin?

Damn it TuTigers2012 you beat me to it!

Hard pass, but if he did come to Towson he would not have to worry about any court storming at SECU uh I mean Towson Center 2.0 or on the road.

Learned today that I get ACCN now. Just turned it on and saw back to back bad errors by 3rd basemen, sandwiched between a double steal to make it 6-0 Duke.   4 errors already..  wonder if baseball has a mercy rule

update. 3 errors by the same guy in the inning

I watched most of that game last night.  We are lucky that it took 8 innings before the mercy rule took effect.  At the on set it looked like the game would only last 5 innings.

Look we were not beating Duke, but watching that game I kind of wonder how they won 4 games.

Beginning of the game the starting Duke pitcher got 6 outs on 12 pitches, where it took our guy 30 pitches to get 3 outs.

We had 5 total errors, 3 by the third baseman in the same inning which TuTigers2012 eluded to.  I think it should have been 6 errors but generous home scoring on one.

8 total walks, 3 hit batters, 4 wild pitches.

On to another issue.  First pitch last night was around 7:00 PM in Durham, NC.  Game ended around 9:30 PM.  It takes about 5 hours and 20 minutes according to Google Maps to go from Duke to Towson.  Assuming they were on the road at say 10:15 PM they probably got back to Towson at around 3:45 AM and back into their dorms/apartments at around 4:15 AM.  Plenty of time for these "student athletes" to get some rest, go to class (hahahaha) and then get ready for their 3:00 PM home game against GW today.  Who set up this schedule?

Hey, at least the CAA schedulers did us a favor in baseball and didn't schedule us against nationally ranked Campbell this year..

CAA will say it was to make up for the questionable football and basketball schedules given to us!

You can talk all you want about NIL, Finances, Comparisons in those areas to others. Last nights loss to get to the finals was done with two simple words......BAD COACHING

THIS!  Again and again.  Give Skerry the keys to (fill in the blank sports car) and I bet you I pass him in my beat up 2005 Altima as he sits in the right lane.  His scheme is old and does not work in today's game.  I hate watching our games because anytime we are playing well I am watching our games on a swivel because I just know the bad is coming.  ONE bleeping point the last 4 minutes of a game you should have control up seven points.  The stall ball missed 3 by DW up with 2:40 to go, that whole possession was unbearable to watch as he is standing there.  COC almost got a 5 second call on it and they were not even truly guarding him.  The moment Tarke stole the ball and started down the court you could see the only thing on his mind was to get rid of it.  The last thing he wanted to do was go in for that layup.  Never seen a guard shy away in such a situation.  May's air ball foul shot you could hear the disbelief in Pete Gillen's voice!  That foul shot was the capper for Gillen as he was questioning Skerry throughout the game.  Just like just he's seen this movie before as he broadcast our tournament games the past few years.

Someone mentioned Jon Rothstein's post game comments and then I saw his posted tweet on this board.  It is not just us, some frustrated fans popping off on a message board.  National eyes are seeing and questioning.  Look PK nice guy yes, does great in the community, is probably a great representative for the University but it is time to move on.  The problem which we already know is Towson is not showing him the door with too much money owed on his contract.  There is no school that would be considered an upgrade to Towson that would offer him a head job.  He ain't making a lateral move even if it is a New England school that wants him.  Our best hope is, Jamie Dixon I am looking at you, but you might even have to remind him who PK is, a big school offers him a ton of money to be a head assistant.  I always laugh when watching Kentucky and see Bruiser on the bench.

Sunday night a friend of mine in a group chat I am in was surprised I was so negative and questioning how I could be so down on the team as he was going on the "you never know theory".  My response was simply "I am just an experienced fan of a team that has not been to the NCAA Tournament in over 30 years."

Thanks for letting me vent boys!  Cross your fingers, if I win the next Powerball or Mega Millions I will buyout PK and have the SECU sign removed from Towson Center II.

    “University of Towson”.

I don’t mean to be overly sensitive to this but I think it speaks to the lack of brand awareness and/or respect our school has even within a 2 hour radius of our campus. This is a Virginia kid who isn’t aware of the proper name of the school…..I can understand if kids from Texas or Minnesota or California, etc. botch it but c’mon, VA should be “Towson country”.

100%.  I know they can't because of bad "optics" but I would love for our coaching staff to say "Yeah about that offer, nevermind."

They didn’t luck out because the Northeastern win did not count in the CAA standings.

I was referring to "luck out" more so to the point that they held Senior Night last night and the seniors were able to get recognized.  If they waited until Sunday now with no game they would not have been able to be recognized.

  10. You would think that they would want to get back at Monmouth for beating them on our home court last year in the championship game.  Nope lost both against them this year.  Maybe waiting for next week to get revenge.

Separate note looks like Towson lucked out holding Senior Night last night instead of waiting until Sunday with the NE forfeit now.

Why is Hofstra always near the top? Fantastic guard play. We need to recruit those northern nj and nyc kids.

Agreed we do need to recruit those type of kids, but those kids will choose Speedy over PK 99.9999% of the time.  If PK changes his offensive philosophy to a more guard oriented sets and less post play that may lower to 89.9999%!

For whatever it is worth, I guarantee we win at least two more games this regular-season. I don't know if I am willing to go any more than that. We could go 4-0 and we could go 1-3 (again, more likely 2-2). I don't say that to be optimistic or pessimistic, this team has just been mixed bag of good and awful this year and I think that is the mixed bag we probably get these last four games.

That is the true definition of a meddling team.  2-2 is the likely outcome but the funny thing is if they happen to go 4-0 the rest of the way, then there is no way they win in DC.  Derek Jeter was asked if he ever got nervous or started pressing when he was in a 0 for 20 slump.  He said no because the law of averages means that he was due for a hit.  if we go 4-0 unfortunately in my mind it would mean we would be due for a loss.

Anyway can't win the last 4 if you don't win the first.  Get the dub tonight boys.

  13. I frequent the message board of the other "TU" that is a 90 minute drive up 95. As I was perusing their board this morning, I realized Temple's women's coach is EXACTLY what the title of this thread is talking about.  Coach Richardson spent 5 years at Towson had success and used us as a stepping stone for another opportunity.  Picked to finish 9th in the AAC they are currently tied for first.  Some on their message boards call that team North Towson!

  14. This is so much on point in so many ways.  As much as it would suck I would LOVE to have to find a new coach every 2, 3, 4 years because of the success they had as a coach at Towson.  To habe the longest tenured coach who has not reached 1 NCAA tournament and as we all know has never truly ever been close to even threatening to make the dance.  Even the hamster has gets off the wheel and said "That's enough"

  15. 10 for 32 on layups?  As embarrassing as losing to Hampton is, shooting less than 33% on layups is even worse.  My daughter's 7th grade middle school team probably shot better than 33% on layups.  Like someone mentioned earlier it is harder than it seems as when you initally think layups you are thinking break away mostly uncontested, but I know a majority of these are defended put backs but still.

If they made 50% of their layups (which is still nothing to write home about), they win the game.

S.O.T Nope they are ot even deserving of that.  I'll just post my thought when I saw the score:  "Sigh"
