It’s over. I guess we’ll try and play in the spring.

Towson should have an announcement tomorrow regarding the situation. I'll try and find out more.

JMU’s beat writer Greg Madia: According to sources, the report regarding the suspension of CAA Football is partially true. I'm told CAA schools can still pursue a schedule outside of CAA play if they wish. (1/2) Also according to sources, JMU still plans to play 2020 fall football as long as the NCAA still holds FCS postseason play. My understanding is most CAA schools are expected to elect not to play, but JMU will play. (2/2) Will Delaware play? Will Towson play? Will Richmond? W&M?

There is no coaching situation. Contract goes to 2021. Nobody is going to buy out a coach at this juncture. As for the season, if the Ivy League can play in the spring, so can the CAA. Play a conference-only schedule and start in April. Three weeks of preseason. Workouts in the winter indoors and outdoors. Having the new soccer stadium and practice fields can't hurt. Would probably end up moving some lacrosse games there, if necessary. Football, at any level of D-1, should not be played in March for weather reasons and should not go against March Madness.

I can’t imagine many FCS conferences playing this fall

JMU will still try and play apparently. Hope the CAA plays in the spring with a limited schedule.

IG Live interview with TJ Parker Rivera and Jerelle Bennimon
mat1992 replied to Blounge's topic in Tiger Basketball
It’s a rough listen, but it certainly seems TJ is enjoying himself and has adapted to the Euro lifestyle quite well.😉 -

Well, if the whole county shut down in April, we’d probably not be having this discussion. There is no them. It’s basically up to each conference, not the NCAA. If the SEC is not playing football until the spring, everyone else shuts down in the fall. They basically rule college football. They will try like hell to play because there will be billions of dollars lost. Time is running out. Personally, I would push the season to October. Plan on having preseason in September. If things haven’t gotten better in a month in mid-August, I’d postpone it until the spring.

Disagree. If it’s safe to play in the East Coast, but they can’t play out West, why shouldn’t those Eastern conferences play? They just won’t have National tournaments. They’ll just play teams within their own conference or area.

Kids are playing outdoor sports in many places. I can’t imagine not being playing any college sports unless the virus becomes out of control everywhere and there’s no vaccine before January. It does appear that College fall sports is in deep trouble barring some rare positive news in the next few weeks.

https://www.thetournament.com/teams/team-hines His team is playing on Sunday at 4pm against Sideline Cancer on ESPN. A lot of ex-college players, G-Leaguers, guys who were playing overseas, etc. All played in Columbus, Oh.
