  3. Not sure. I'm sure Nads won't say anything until gametime.

  5. Not really. Most experts had us getting a home game before the Drexel win and afterwards. That's what beating No. 1 Loyola does to you along with having Hopkins beat Maryland two straight times. Our RPI skyrocketed after that.
  6. https://towsontigers.com/news/2019/5/4/eight-is-great-as-mens-lacrosse-captures-eighth-caa-championship.aspx Towson certainly got a break when Drexel upset UMass in the semifinals and they took advantage of it, beating the Dragons, 16-14 in the finals on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers had a 7-goal lead going into the fourth quarter and held the ball for the most part, not attempting to score and the Dragons scored five straight to nearly come back. Luke Formert had another big game with four goals, while Brendan Sunday, Grant Maloof and Brody McLean added three goals apiece. Timmy Monahan added two goals and four assists. Sunday was named the Tournament MVP. While the defense wasn't sharp at times, they did cause 10 turnovers. Koby Smith had one and three ground balls. Jack McNallen struggled at the X, winning just 10 of 33. Tyler Canto made 17 saves and several big ones. Now the biggest question on Selection Sunday is whether Towson gets a home game. Unfortunately, it could come against Hopkins or Loyola. I'd rather face UMBC of course.
  7. I don't know about everybody's face-off situation. I imagine most teams in the playoffs have pretty good ones. There are no Delawares. I really don't know much more than you do about his jaw and I guess they are just waiting on the doctor. Even if he plays next Saturday/Sunday, he could be rusty. But if McNallen plays and gets blasted, we just don't seem to have an alternative. He's really only faced two teams, Drexel twice and Delaware twice so nobody really knows what he's capable of doing. Today, it seemed as though Koita (5-11, 215) was bigger and more physical and McNallen had a couple of early jumps. He has to use his quickness to beat a bigger guy though he's not that small himself (6-1, 185). He won many where we just doubled him and knocked the ball away. It wasn't quite as bad as the stats showed until they started making that run. That's where you really need a good face-off guy to stop those.
  8. Don't forget a rematch with Georgetown. Our defense wasn't great today but the one thing I'm getting used to as that you need to score goals to win. Not just 7 or 8 but 12-14 at a minimum. Look at the high scores today. Even UMBC is putting up 14 goals. If we had Woodall, we probably would have won going away and put up 18-20 goals. I think we might be able to win the first game without Woodall but after that, we would need a good matchup at the X or we are cooked. I thought we struggled some with communication on D. Bodden is a physical D-man which isn't always a great thing in today's game but you need that since Koby is kind of undersized and Patterson isn't explosive. The fact that we have Koby for two more years is insane and Sillah or Garrett V. will move to close next season. We just need to replace Goodrich and Wilkerson, which will be tough. Offensively, Sunday's improvement reminds me a bit of Tim Langton back in 1996, who did very little his first three years and then became an All-American as a senior. Sunday at least had a decent junior season but all of a sudden, he's a star. Also his presence makes everybody better and he's become a pretty good passer.

    Tigers are CAA Champions!

Still getting a home game likely due to high power ranking. The most difficult thing in sports at times is to hold on to a lead. They had to hold the ball but at some point, you also have to go to the net. There's a difference between stalling and managing the game. Lost focus and concentration once they got the big lead in the fourth. Thought it was over and it probably was but with the shaky face-offs, it got close. Brilliant three quarters for the most part. But this is a flawed team. Thank God for Canto who saved the D numerous times.
  11. Not sure about that. Hopkins winning boosted our RPI to 6 in the nation. However, Loyola losing to Army was devastating. Maryland probably would get in over us.

NE lost too much but this league should be wide open. Riller back gives CofC a big edge.
