Can we all chip in for the airfare?

MBB falls to Charleston in Semifinals 77-72

We have very few donors with that kind of money. We only need 1 who is willing to step up.

I understand what you are saying and I don’t totally disagree. However, if you talk the talk you had better walk the walk. This began with the comparisons of Michigan and Michigan State, etc. That was totally unlikely to happen. So, if none of that is true, at least be honest and say what the future is for the program. We are a mid major with not enough money to be a big time mid major. We are “another guy” in the world of mid majors. Hopefully the new fund raising Associate AD will get the job done and we can step it up.

Even though I am a frequent critic of Skerry, I totally understand your point. However, there are things that need to be said in a forthright manner. There are coaches that rise as the lights get brighter. Skerry is not one of those. There are coaches that….not always, but more often than not, get teams of great talent, teams of mediocre talent and teams of lesser talent to win big games. That is what separates them from the 20 game winning coaches. This moment presents the new AD to make his statement. If we can not buy out a coach, in what is as important financially as any sport we have, then Towson is not serious about athletics. TU has no problem firing Field Hockey coach for not winning or a baseball coach or a track coach, because that really does not cost them anything. Put your money where your mouth is. Then and only then will the donors, supporters and students have any real hope that athletics is significant……and if not, at least we know where we stand.

In the end, the answer is pretty simple…..Charleston is better.

    Maybe because Towson fouled more?

    CAA TOURNEY PREVIEW

Villanova is still celebrating Rollie Massimino’s squad winning the championship over Georgetown. You are right…..you just never know.
  10. If it helps them win, I am not sure PS cares.
  11. Clearly a very nice win. We will see if the momentum carries the Tigers forward. It is also noteworthy that 11 solid minutes does not a season make. We tend to forget all the things that caused us to be skeptical. Thursday, the kid May was a bum. He makes a three and suddenly he 8s Pete Maravich. Let’s just see how this all plays out.
  12. Like I said, he knows how to pick an agent.
  13. If you look back over the 12 years, the most important individual, the one who had the fate of TU basketball in his hands, is Skerry’s agent. Pretty sad state of affairs.
  14. Just enough wins to get a coaching extension, but not enough to matter....That is this teams MO
  15. There really is nothing new to say about this team. Whenever the game is close and coaching matters.....coming up with a set or a play that can make the difference, this coaching staff is nowhere to be found. In Skerry's own words. ...That's been our MO...to Finish....Haven't done that yet.....Coach, look in the mirror and you will figure out why this team has not finished games.

    MBB Dominates Delaware 95-72

Just take this one at a time. Appreciate tonight’s win, but now"…………..only talk about Saturday. That’s one of the things that makes this time of year difficult…..you look at the scoreboard, but more than ever, you need to retain singular focus. That is the responsibility of the coaching staff.

    MBB falls at W&M 68-66

Any coach worth his or her salt will tell you.....Physical mistakes happen....but there is no excuse for mental errors. This team makes way too many mental errors to be a competitive squad at a high level.

The players should read Pete Carrill's book outlining his philosophy.....The strong take from the weak, BUT The Smart Take From The Strong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t really want to get into a debate over who is a good guy and who is not, because it is totally irrelevant. He is paid to win meaningful games……and he does not. However, he clearly knows how to choose the correct agent to negotiate a contract. Everyone has their own talents.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to say “what a good guy”. That’s when you know that it’s all over.

Drexel upends MBB 73-66 in overtime

With all due respect........what ifs are brought up by folks who have lost. Championship teams overcome the obstacles. Whether it is the players who suck it up and get the job done.....or coaches who figure out ways to overcome obstacles.....that is what makes them champions. Not sure we have either. What if Jeffrey Maier had a cold and could not have gone to the Oriole Yankee game!....none of them matter.

Drexel upends MBB 73-66 in overtime

The three players that are referred to as The Big 3 are, in my opinion, pretty good players at this level. The Big Three should mean players that they continually dominate games. That does not happen. All in all, this team is above average, but certainly not the one we read about before the season started. They are capable of winning a tournament because the conference is so weak. It is hard to win when you really don't know who is going to show up on any given night.

MBB falls to Estrada and Hofstra 76-72

Many times, with teams being so close in talent, the difference is the coaching. IMHO, the key is to keep the players loose. Do whatever is possible to make them forget about "getting the monkey off their back". Remind them that history is irrelevant. Each game, each team, each year is different....just be who you are!
