At this point you are correct. However, if growing talent from within was the MO perhaps you wouldn't need to patch together a competitive team in the last year of your contract. My post was not designed to criticize. Just a statement of fact. I think most people would agree growing talent from within is a better strategy. But I am happy to agree to disagree.

Kid looks good...great defensive get. I hope I'm wrong but the lack of 2021 commits leads me to believe Towson will be in the transfer portal market big time this year. I'd prefer the foundation be homegrown talent but that's apparently how the coaches like to do business.

Honest and interesting interview. A lot of issues to work through. Scholarships seems like the biggest challenge for Towson.

Not sure I would go that far but he looks really good with a big upside. Fits the big receiver mold it looks like the coaches like. A QB, RB and now a WR. All look good and I think will do well...probably early for the RB and WR. Now bring on the big guys! Especially on defense.

I like him also and looking forward to his getting more opportunities. If I were advising him the first thing he should do is hire Godfather18 as his agent.

Doesn't everyone get an extra year of eligibility whether they play in the spring or not? In other words...if they play in the spring it doesn't count as a year of eligibility used.

Of course I understand that there will be more than 2 recruits eventually. I will respectfully disagree that "smart coaches" are influencing whether a kid posts his commitment on social media. Smart coaches are getting the best kids they can...any way they can. Posting the commitment does nothing to hurt the kid or school. That said TU currently has more transfers than 2021 commits. By the way...the way the transfers were announced is via social media...lol. IMO strong programs are built through high school recruiting and developing those players. It's okay to mix in a transfer or two in positions of need. I'm a fan and I am rooting for a strong finish to the recruiting season. I like the two kids they have a lot. But would love to see some big guys and linebackers.

Transfers are great to plug in areas of need. I just believe you build a program through recruiting. Not a knock on this guy. I'm sure he will do well. However, I hope they are putting at least as much emphasis on recruiting as they are landing the big transfer. Again..nothing against this QB. Just a comment on what appears to be a philosophy. It's now September and ALL of the offseason personnel news has been about transfers in and out as TU currently has 2 commits for 2021.

Everyone gets another year. Seniors do not count against scholarships limits.....but they still have to be paid. What does that mean for Towson football? I'm sure post COVID budgets won't allow for a full signing class in 2021. Do they only sign 6-8 kids? Does it impact transfers because transfers get scholarships? Will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

I trust that it will sort itself out...but at what cost? I would imagine the football team demographic is a bit different from the lax demographic as far as ability to pay. May not be as simple as spreading out some ships. Not necessarily disagreeing with you.....but don't believe it will be that simple and likely impact some of the guys significantly

IMO he is a very solid player. Agree with comment above. Good at everything but not necessarily great at anything. He will get an opportunity. Guys just don't emerge into stars their 5th and now 6th year but who knows. There is a big freshman this year and another kid that looks explosive coming next fall. Should be competitive for playing time and likely RB by committee the next couple years.

Correct..limited is better than none. I'm hoping for the best. If we are still unable to play sports by the spring that will mean the entire country will have been on at least partial shut down for over a year. The implications of that will be far reaching and the last thing on our minds will be sports.

How many "pro prospects" are there in the CAA? Especially if they don't play in the spring. Maybe a handful? I'm more interested in knowing how much it impacts college sports if they don't play at all. Scholarships? Do current seniors get another year of eligibility? How does it impact the 2021 incoming class? Etc.

Lol...I'm not qualified to judge recruiting. I think that takes care of itself with wins and losses. My intention is not to criticize. Yet I know that recruiting is very different this year. That said I can't help but notice the almost daily commitments to other CAA schools Ivies and Pioneer schools. I really like the first two and if this class is quality over quantity I am good with that.

Okay I will be more patient. Must admit though...the question that begs to be asked is if Towson has to keep commitments quiet why don't other schools in the CAA do the same? Blasting it all over Twitter seems to be okay for JMU, Villanova, etc. Also that wouldn't explain the two commits....did they go against Towson's requests not to publicize? I like the RB and the QB and I hope you are right and there are 3-5 already committed that are on the down low.

Crickets on this topic. Seems like JMU, Villanova, Elon, Albany etc. have gotten the jump on Towson as far as recruiting for 2021.

Yeah...makes sense for him IF he plays. Hard to crack the lineup at a PAC 10 school when you show up on August 1st.....especially at QB. That said I wish the young man well and hope he isn't overthinking this. Yep....tough to get someone with no plan. Recruiting seems to be moving more quickly recently rather than more slowly due to COVID 19. I'm sure they have a plan..will be interesting to see how things unfold with so many unknowns.

Oh well. Casualties of the canceled season I suppose. So do they get another transfer or stand pat....I don't think even the coaches know at this point. They better focus on recruiting...a lot of guys committing in 2021....but we only have 2 so far.
