    Sun story on Caleb Smith

So another walk on that is making a big impact. West, Leatherbury, Smith, O'Neal (I believe). This program has been very fortunate that these players have made their way onto campus.

So what player will mysteriously not be in attendance tonight?

So he will be in the arena tonight, right??

    Athletic Department Ideas/Suggestions

Agree. The academic support staff for athletes was non-existent before waddell came along, hence the low APR scores. Facilities began to upgrade too. Also, the athletes aren't eating their pregame meals in the glenn dinning hall anymore, like they were my first few years of school, 08-10

If you think Towsons' student fees are high, check out the school down in Harrisonburg

    Zane Martin

Hope NM and Houston miss the NCAA tournaments the next two years. Good riddance to anyone who does not want to be here.

That is the million dollar question. I feel like most in the department and the fans are content with the status quo. A good year, some average, some bad. The AD does not exhume energy or passion into the programs. With that being said, I don't believe the University president does either. Tim and Kim (haha) are not Mike Waddell and Loeschke. Leonard was supposed to be someone who could drum up support and donations from alum, companies and advertisers. Has this happened? It doesn't seem like it. He hired Dan Crowley (sorry older Tiger fans, who love him), who didn't have experience in the job he was hired for. The only qualification was that he played football here, was good, and played in the CFL. We need support and money from recent graduates, and no one who graduated Towson UNIVERSITY knows or cares who he is. Why isn't the TAF calling/emailing past and current members for money and ideas? Why isn't the ticket office calling/emailing past and current ticket holders?? ( I had to contact them to renew my tickets that I've had since SECU opened and they still dropped the ball getting them out on time for the season!) This is just bad business! Sure we are strapped for money like any smaller university with programs that lose money. We can't afford to fire coaches with contract years left like JMU, Delaware, WM, and Elon (who are our peers in our own conference) so we are already fighting and uphill battle. If that is the case, why are we then handing out unwarranted and extremely long extensions to coaches that we currently have. No offense, Skerry and Rob are not/were not hot commodities were we should be worried about losing them to a bigger school, at a time where they haven't won a lot, or anything, and have not have had high consistency. Why so many years at a time?? Why after a 10-1 hoops start do you give him 8 years, in the middle of the season?!??! WHY?! Richardson and Nadalean are coaches who have deserved and would need extensions, as I could see bigger programs offering them jobs with much higher salaries than they currently make.

    Hahah UNH

apparently still had photos of someone somewhere. Ranked 10th in the selection committees first release. Wtf!

    Mid Major Coaches

Pretty interesting article. Some of those bonuses are hilarious. https://www.midmajormadness.com/2019/11/4/20946421/ncaa-basketball-head-coach-contract-salary-database-mid-major-2019-20
  12. HAHAHAHA. Yes, except we have no money to buy him out. Some here won't mind yet another underachieving team at 16-15 and a first round exit in the CAA tournament. Agree or disagree with me, these are the facts: -He has underachieved with too much talent -The CAA has been down and still have not made it the the Championship -Had a brand new arena to recruit with -No "signature win" Oregon state turned it around, but who have we beaten that we "shouldn't have"? -115-106 career record if you take out the 1st year -2-6 in CAA tournaments (again without his first year) 9 vs 8 L, 5 vs 4 L, 3 vs 6 W, 3 vs 2 L, 3 vs 6 L, 9 vs 8 L, 2 vs 7 W, 2 vs 3 L. It isn't like the are 1-8 matchups. Some of those were in Baltimore too.
  13. Agreed. Now if we can get more than 25 students there...
  14. It was nice to spread the floor, shoot pretty well, and have guys drive without the paint being clogged! Jamion Christian brings his "Havoc" defense, and while it was game 1 and they showed it a decent amount, they were still raw with it and a lot of new faces out there. Really liked how we handled the pressure for the most part. Gray looked good, he hasn't played a D1 game in a year+. A guy like we haven't had before, who can stretch the floor and go inside a bit if need be. Freshmen looked good. As did Betrand who played with confidence. I bet not having Howard and Timberlake on the bench, helped his game as he knew Skerry wouldn't take him out with one mistake. Did we only take 1 TO the entire game?! And that was due to Gibson cramping up late in the game. Winning against an A10 team (no matter how bad) by double digits without 3 key players is great! Add on Fobbs had a pedestrian offensive game, makes it even better. GW fans were upset they had to play a lowly CAA team on the road the start the season. And they were 6.5 point underdogs.

    Injuries

Some were saying addition by subtraction with TJ, whatever the situation is, he was a decent shooter. Him, Gibson, Fobbs, Gray all on the court in tight games for FT shooting would have been nice.

SECU did bring beer upstairs. Cowboys and Rednecks Bar downtown had Coors $3, Blue Moon $4 and Spiked Arnold Palmers $4 (Cash only, no food). Like Unitas Stadium, they are selling Chick Fil A sandwiches and chips at a concession stand in the arena. Music and graphic were much better last night than in years past.

    GW Preview

I meant this is a hopefully a good/evenly matched opening game for Towson. It isn't Duke where we get steamrolled nor is it Brynn Anthe who we will steamroll. Hell I'll take the under every time under Skerry, even without knowing what it is.
