Before I get to the recap, here are Pat's comments on a very long postgame on radio and not the press conference.

"We had a lead that kind of evaporated. We went four guards late because we were strugglig to score. We struggled to put the ball in the basket. A couple of turnovers. Pushed out on a couple of shots. Dylan, Tejada, CMay. Tried to go offense, defense

"Didn't have a great night on the offensive glass. We did fight. We were spotty. Didn't get to the foul line. Didn't finish some drives through contact. We secured defensive rebounds and then got it knocked out of our hands.

"Breakdowns late on the ball screen play. They hit Brzovic on the lob. We had the chance to tie it at the line. Tejada had a decent look. He was sensational. He and Dylan made a lot of tough shots. Wish we could get easier shots. Whistle came out on Charles in the 2nd (assume 2nd foul?). Guys are hurting. Played hard against a terrific team. It's such an honor and a privilege to coach Charles.

His leadership and character. This one stings. As a human being and the type of person, you just don't find guys like that. We've been invited to some other tournaments. We have turned it down a few times. We had the summer and Canada. A lot of wear and tear. Think about it. Went toe to toe. Didn't close it. Our defense was awesome and our offense was inconsistent. A microcosm of how we've been this season on offense. Feel bad for the guys that worked so hard. Had three freshmen on the court late in the game. We'll learn from that."

But nothing was asked why he didn’t run any sets in the last 4 minutes? Or why they didn’t go inside?  It’s nice he yammered on about Charles who was a good ambassador to the school and decent player for 5 years but we want answers to real f*cking questions.
If there ever was a player that represented Towson basketball it is Charles Thompson.  Physical, tried hard most of the time, not highly skilled. Not highly coordinated, nice guy with no mean streak (until last 1.5 months) and unable to come through in thr clutch

We wasted a truly great defensive performance. All game I was complaining that we would get a stop or TO and either turn it right back to CoC or chuck up a bad shot. The lack of a half court offense continues to be a major problem. I said it in the chat - we often look like a group of guys playing pickup who don’t really know each other. We just sort of play around until it’s time to shoot.

It’s horrible coaching strategy that’s plagued Towson for close to 20 years. PK and skerry love(d) running stall ball, way to early.

cue the excuses but this program is done until skerry is let go.  My season tickets will not be renewed. Won’t travel to away games anymore. I’m not even mad about this one, it was expected. I’m numb. Hopefully this new president takes a long hard look at Towson “athletics”. it shouldn’t be a charity case where you automatically get lifetime contracts.

Tarke, Sulaiman and Paar combine for 2 points, and maybe 4 RBs..

    That fumble every other handoff

Rinse wash repeat.  Same thing every year.

Unsurprising, and yet I’m still crushed. Another year, another “almost.”

If Steve had balls (he doesnt). A change would be made.  Longest tenured coach to never make a conf final

100%.  I know they can't because of bad "optics" but I would love for our coaching staff to say "Yeah about that offer, nevermind."

It’s better than “University of Townson”

  5. We obviously won’t play as well as we did down there in January and hopefully they don’t play like they did two weeks ago. Think this one is somewhere in the middle. Line opener at 3.5 and has grown to 6/6.5.

Tigers staying out of trouble is key, if refs call it tight, that favors Charleston since they go two deep at every position.

In addition to our game today I’m going to be keeping a close eye on that Arkansas State vs. JMU game in the Sun Belt. Bryan Hodgson is aiming to take Arkansas State to the big dance in his first season as HC. They took down #1 seed App State yesterday.

Good for Bryan Hodgson…..first year HC.

You can win in your first year?! That’s news’

Three more but if the win tomorrow night....?

It’s a moot conversation and one we shouldn’t be having with this coach. If feel like Steve is happy like Tim, but with years left and no one kicking down the door for his services, just let it ride.

Can  he finally win a big game at towson tomorrow?  Will need more on court time from Charles, that Russian kid will eat Paar alive

A good win for sure. All “must-win-game” wins are good. Credit to the players and the coaches for finding a way to get it done today.

However, I’m not quite ready to let Pat off the hook.  Anything short of the big dance will just be more of the same. I don’t care that it’s CofC tomorrow. Let’s not consider consecutive wins in the CAA Tourney meaningful progress. This isn’t year 2 or 3 of his tenure.

Agree but we are stuck with him for 3 more years? Maybe, More? So let’s enjoy winning two straight (even if every other school has done that) for the first time since 2009.  There’s so much that can and should be criticized. There’s time for that after Charleston blows us our tomorrow  but for now we celebrate!  F UNCW!

I credit him with make adjustments in the lineup today. The stall ball almost bit us in the ass again

  9. 2012 has no complaints with Towson or skerry on this one.  Finally won two in a row! Can we make it 3?! Probably not. Charleston is a machine and has the best 7-8 players on  their team and rested and healthy (sheesh  I sound like almost all our other posters here)as well we a much better coaching staff.  But let’s show some fight and punch them in the face tomorrow.

Sprained ankles, hits to the groin, questionable fouls, we faced that all day today.  Quite a resolve by the freshmen.  Love the fight they had and that last second dunk attempt by lowery. This was the first time in a while “Towson tough and Towson vs everyone” showed up. That team punched back today and it was nice to see.

Some of the oldies here hate Delaware and Drexel,  for me it was Jmu until they left for greener pasturers, but my dislike for uncw, their coaches, their players and especially their fan base has been second to none. This was a satisfying win.

  10. First off big congrats to skerry for gettin his  200th win at Towson today. Nice round number. Also with todays win, ties Pat Kennedy (only two with wins) for the most CAAT wins, with…5.  Hopefully they aren’t celebrating to late tonight as tomorrow is going to take a near perfect game.

Suliman and Williamson played well today. May and tarke can’t shoot but did play very good defensively in the second half. Gotta give Coleman props for giving us a few serviceable minutes in the first half

New and improved CFG Bank Arena would have been better!

i got the tigers winning by 10!

Haha tell Brandon Scott to put a bid in then. Unless it’s in the Carolina’s there won’t be a crowd like the udel wm final in Baltimore. Two of thr top 3 seeds and two closest fan bases to bmore

It’s idiotic to hold this at a neutral sight, with teams from Boston to Charleston. I guess they’re afraid to be thought of as small time if they hold it at campus sites, but they’d get much better crowds that way.

🤷‍♂️   It’s a decent crowd based off past here.  But 20 bucks to park is steep. Arena size is perfect. But just nothing else’s around
