MLax edges Drexel in finale, 11-9

Recommended Posts

Game's a lot different when you're not winning 75%+ of the faceoffs.  But a key win right after that 10-9 goal to get another one real quick to extend the cushion.  Definitely gonna need Woodall back for Thursday night.

So here's a question that bothered me at the end of the game -- when the other team pulls the goalie, why don't we look to go towards the empty net?  Rather than messing around BEHIND the net, how about driving you man to the net and getting a freebie?  Instead, we gave the ball up with 30 seconds left up by 2 and who knows what can happen in that situation.

Agree to an extent but when you’re not winning face offs, you don’t want to give them a chance to score quick goals off of them.

Tony Seaman while coaching at Hopkins playing Duke in College Park in NCAA tournament up one with 15 seconds to go. Hopkins player shoots to open net, misses Duke gets ball scores in transition at buzzer and wins in OT. I agree with Matt the way we were losing faceoffs you are better keeping the ball and running clock.
