No. 2 JMU rolls over No. 17 Towson, 27-10

Recommended Posts

So McDonnell is the longest tenured coach in the caa, and he is/was out on leave this year. Then you have rob... most coaches either win and take a job elsewhere or get canned for being ineffective. Not at Towson though!

I know there will be excuses and other shit by some on here but besides the Maine game this year, we constantly get outplayed in the second halves. Duquesne. Delaware Albany. Nova games all stick out. Other teams are coached well and make adjustments. We don’t.

Also for an “offensive genius” and having a very solid dual threat qb, the offense is underachieving and play calling extremely questionable.

Another year missing the playoffs and scratching and clawing to get to a 500 finish. Ho Hum the Ambrose way

We're stuck with him for another year so only time will tell. This Delaware game at home is a crucial must win for the program. I hated that trick play call absolutely atrocious. I thought our guys fought hard but too many mistakes and penalties makes it's tough to beat a top caliber JMU team.

Crucial for what? This team ain’t winning 4 in a row.

Crucial in that there won’t even be a glimmer of hope for the rest of the season if they lose. Rob dropping the game to Albany really screwed everything up. This team already has a fickle fan base and I don’t see anyone caring if we are already out of the playoff picture with the last three games still on the slate. There is no benefit to tanking to get rid of the coach. We need to win 4 in a row, which we are capable of doing. We have beaten Delaware. Stonybrook, William & Mary, and Elon several times in the past. We are some hungry under dogs with attitude and four straight dubs will determine our altitude.

BLounge, thanks for some common sense.  According to the latest Sagarin ratings, Towson is 19th in FCS.  Folks around here acting like Towson football is the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  We have been through much worse.  The end of the Phil Albert era, the end of the Gordy Combs era.  In hoops the entire Mike Jaskulski and Michael Hunt eras.

And of course the mother of all disasters the Pat Kennedy era.  A guy who had possibly the greatest player in school history fall into his lap and couldn't get a winning record.  Every coach, manager and trainers during those years should never show their faces at Towson again.   Anyone part of that program should slither under a rock and never be heard from again.

So they shouldn’t win this one?  Would certainly help your agenda.

Where did I say shouldn't?  They could win all 4, but they likely won't.  The teams left are ok to solid/good. There aren't any more Maines, Bucknells and NC Central's left.

Even winning the next 4, not sure we would even be invited to the playoffs. Again, not sure but would be difficult..

4 gets them in, even without a signature win.  The FCS is awful and so watered down this year.  A 7-5 team with a decent resume probably gets in. There are ton of 5-3, 4-4 and 4-3's rolling around the top 25. 25% of teams make it so.

Agree that at 8-4, we’re a lock for the playoffs. 7-5, iffy, at best.

This Saturday is essentially a playoff elimination game, as the loser will have 5 losses.

Hoping for a W. Even with a win though, the road to 8-4 would still have to go through a trip to Stony Brook & a home game vs Elon (and a road game vs W&M).  Have we beaten these teams in previous seasons, yes. Will we beat all 3 this season...🤷‍♂️
