Injuries

My worry (re Solly redshirting) is what happens if others go down with injuries? Obviously, he was going to be restricted whether he chose surgery or not, but I'm crossing my fingers that the injury bug leaves us alone for the rest of the year.

On another topic: Did anyone else notice that W&M hung with Oklahoma the entire game (in fact, they led for most of it) and that Knight was unstoppable? If he repeats that performance throughout the season he'll be the POY and the Tribe may finally get to the dance.

The CAA looks very good this year. Skerry and the team better learn to win close games sooner rather than later. It is going to be very competitive and each game and possession is going to be extremely important.

Delaware is 6-0 (5-0 against D1) And all of those D1 games were either road or neutral sites. Their two transfers are combining for 39 PPG 12.5 rebounds while shooting over 53%. Oh, they also have a 6'10 Nova transfer eligible after the Fall semester. Add those 3 to Allen and Anderson and they are one scary team.

WM 4-1 with a close road loss to OU. 3-0 on the road. Knight 21 & 11 tagging up with the 7' transfer from Wisconsin whose averaging 17 & 10, WM has a huge 1-2 punch. They have played very well with such high player turnover (they really return 1 player) and a brand new coach.

Charleston- 3-1 only loss was home to Oklahoma State (yes CAA teams can get good teams to travel them, they also have one against VCU later this year) Win at Marshall last night was nice. They still have Riller who seems like hes been there forever. He can reach 2,500 career points.

NE- 3-2 They have played a solid scehdule so far (BU, Harvard, Umass, ODU) and demolished poor Holy Cross 101-44 on the road in Worcester last night. That's a D3 game score... Jordan Roland is averaging 30.5 a game while shooting 62.8% 55.3% and 92%.  NO ONE can keep that up!  They are a veteran team with a great coach and most likely the ROTY in Tyson Walker

JMU- Has been solid but played some bad teams and some really good teams. They have a lot back and play a tough physical rebounding style like we do.

UNCW- looks better than I thought. Had a ton of roster turnover too.

Ultimate irony is that many, including me, thought W&M would be a dumpster fire this year, while early returns suggest they are a legit contender for the title. Will be glad to see Knight gone after this year. I think the Wisconsin transfer is also a senior, so they better win it while they can.

UD, NE, Hofstra, C of C, W&M, JMU & TU = possibility of a very, very competitive battle where just about any team can beat just about any other team any given night

Well, it's early but it's not a bad thing if the league is better than expected. Every year, we hear about how great Delaware is and then they have a key injury or a transfer or a suspension. If they could avoid all the drama, they could be really good. You just wonder how good they could have been had Ryan Daly stayed. Maybe he made the right move to transfer to St. Joe's since he put up 30 on UConn about a week ago. Unlike Zane and Justin G., he stayed in his lane and (he actually passes the ball). Of course, he also has to stay in shape.

Eh, they usually aren't THIS good. The UAB transfer can freaking shoot it.   Daly left to go to St. Joes because his grandfather played and coached there, his dad played there (for Martelli) and his cousin is the DBO.  Kind of sucks for him that they fired Martelli. But Daly has the ultimate green light to chuck up shots this year. Averaging close to 20 a game!

JMU a good win at a very good ODU team last night. To bad the CAA just couldn't get one of those wins against Florida, OU, OSU, UVA, UNC.

ODU ain’t the schools you just mentioned and yes it was a quality win by JMU. They are talented but not particularly well coached.

Shoot around video on Twitter last night showed Timberlake playing with a black sleeve on his right knee. Hopefully he will be dressing for tonight’s game.
