How embarrassing

Recommended Posts

Until Towson realizes student attendance  should be highest priority, we will never get great in football or basketball.

Students who attend games will donate to the athletic department as alumni and come back as alumni/increase attendance.

Our problem is lack of significant money to pay off poor coaches and get good coaches and landing great players. Empty stadiums do not land great players.

^how are you going to get them to attend? Are you gonna go door-to-door giving out tickets in the dorms?

That is one option. Would also have pep rally's with the team at the Colony, Donnybrook, Towson Place and other off campus apartments with tickets and free piizza/beer.

Consistently win games that matter. Beat big time programs. That’s it.

That helps. How about a bonus program for the Athletic Department staff. If they increase student attendance a certain % they get a bonus.

As bad as the basketball and football choke jobs were this past weekend this thread is the most embarrassing of all.

From the Chicken Little posts that the apocalypse is near to Professor Know It All coming in for his thrice-a-semester appearance telling us about the "Golden Age" of Athletics being now.

Talk about massive disconnects.

Here's the scoop, RA is not getting fired.  PS is not getting fired.  TL is not getting fired.

Football did not make the playoffs this year and will not make the playoffs next year with a new QB at the helm.  No on is on the roster now who is 1/2 as good as Flacco.

Men's Basketball is not going to the NCAA or NIT this year. Skerry has 5 more years on his contract.  Learn to love it cause it ain't changing.

But since Volleyball and Women's Basketball are going gangbusters, and Field Hockey has their own field, we should all be content.

Remind me again how you lost that job in the diplomatic corps?🤣😆

You are however absolutely correct that no one is getting fired. Time will tell whether you’re correct about the football team next year, though if we could only go 14-10 with Flacco, it does beg the question of how can the team make the playoffs without him.

Playoffs?  Cue Brother 2012 and his rant about RA's record without T-West, Rap's Rising Star, on the field

If I’m not mistaken, I endeavored to agree that your insightful analysis that playoffs won’t be in the offing next season may very well be accurate, even though admittedly I’m not blessed with your insight into such matters. After all, I’m just a blue collar working stiff who talks these things over with the guys down at the plant, or while chugging some brewski’s down at the bowling alley

Not saying year's team is making the playoffs but there's a 1% chance that one of the quarterbacks on this roster will be the starter next season barring injuries. If RA is going to go out, it's not with one of those quarterbacks. He's bringing in one or two transfers. He has to or it's over. Whether he finds another Flacco or someone better, remains to be seen and with his history of getting guys like Joe Brennan, Kevin Olsen, etc., he better not whiff. Not saying Stover and Miller are horrible. Could they be as good as Peter Athens? Sure, if we had a great offensive line and a once-in-a-lifetime back. But no, we need a great signal-caller to get to the next level and it wouldn't hurt if added a very good big back.
