His tournament record speaks for itself. This is not a small sample size. I don’t see how even his most ardent supporters can defend it. BUT, he’s not going anywhere for quite some time. It was Ill advised to give him an 8-year extension & downright malfeasance if there was not a buyout clause in the contract. Like it or not, we’re stuck with him

Tim leading the clown show. I’m sorry but the president should be looking into canning his ass. Who gives an 8 year extension for a coach who won NOTHING?! The rest of the contact is a joke as well.

For the “who would want to come here/grass isn’t always greener” crowd. 450k can get you a decent young hungry coach. Or it can get you the bum we have now

There’s no doubt this would be a desirable job for an up & comer. Great facility, great recruiting region, salary at or near half a million dollars. But would you trust the current regime to pick the right new coach? Again, this is just fantasy talk since the current coach isn’t going anywhere. Perhaps the discussion should be about the future of the AD

Agreed again - pressure needs to come from the top. Tim Leonard at fault.

Yep. But the president does not care. No alum are upset outside of the 20-25 of us here. The others on here are happy and content with the way it’s going.

breaking news. Not really. Rowe out at jmu. A university who wants to be successful! Refreshing.

Uncw x2  jmu x2. Drexel Elon Delaware Wm all have fired head coaches in the past 5-7 years

Look, we all know our coach has hit his plateau-ceiling is 3rd place in regular season, followed by a 1st round loss in the conference tournament.

We are who we thought we are

It is beyond frustrating

Is Coen the only coach in CAA with more seniority than PS? Of course, he has a much stronger resume, at a school where basketball is more of an afterthought

Totally understand all your frustrations.

Seems like I can turn the page faster now that I’ve had my balls busted by friends season after season.

I’m avoiding looking back...  does us no good really..  I get it but I can’t..

2020-21:

We get the two brothers back and both have a season a piece under their belt.. only helps our on court chemistry..  Lopez or Collins calibur.. no way!  But still I like brothers on the same team.

Thompson & Gibson & Timberlake & Betrand...  that’s a lot of minutes played this past season that are coming back.  Very solid core..  championship caliber!?  Maybe!

Long Beach kid has been practicing all season long and Gray returns and gives us bench scoring etc.  Dottin played his ass off this season!

Please please look around the country PS..  add a shooting specialist...  grad transfer or Euro kid.  Not like trying to find a Big these days.  Lots of kids out there.

I appreciate all of your insights on this board..  truly do.  I tend to agree with many of you all season long.

I need one more season with this coach cause I saw some changes made mid season and I think this core could be something for us.  Add a new assistant coach who is a analytics geek please.
Can’t hurt.

Go Tigers.

That's truly the bigger problem.  Culture, or lack thereof.  Towson has NEVER been able to establish a true sports culture or identity.  TU sports are largely an afterthought for most TU students and alumni.  We haven't won enough in our history nor produced enough notable professional athletes to make people care about our sports teams.  We lack tradition and brand power.  If I had a nickle for every time I've had to explain where Towson is to people here in Atlanta.

To your point about the school's president, when the highest levels of the institution's leadership are apathetic or indifferent about athletics, it's a recipe for mediocrity.

In my humble (and rose-colored) opinion, Towson should be the type of program that is a legitimate contender for National Championships in men's lacrosse every 3-4 years, a playoff team in football every 1-2 years, and be in serious contention for an NCAA Tourney spot (CAA Championship game) in men's hoops every 2-3 years.  However, we lack the funds, the talent and the leadership to do it.

What incentive does Tim Leonard have to make any changes to the coaching when there's ZERO pressure to do so and the bar for success is so seemingly low?
