Interesting CAA Article

Recommended Posts

Interesting in the fact that this article listed many schools both in the CAA and outside the CAA and Towson's name was not mentioned once.

Because we are going to the ACC...

Probably because we are a "just there" school. Haven't won a basketball regular or postseason title in the CAA. Last football title was almost a decade ago. Last playoff win 7 years ago. Football is .500 in the CAA since the start of the 2013 season.

We aren't WM, NE or Elon academically. Our best sport isn't a mainstream one outside of 2-3 states.

There's nothing wrong with being a mid/low tier program. Lots of people on here are ok with that, as are the administrators.  We are going to go along with another group of teams when the CAA implodes and keep chugging along. Our needs and voices are not a priority to the CAA.

It could be because TL, RA or PS didn't comment to the writer in the article.  I'd be interested to see the analysis done on the $ that each program budget has, how much of that is pumped into building the fanbase and the ROI on that fanbase.

I don't know the exact rankings but I think we pay our HC's more in the mid/upper tier of the league so we are we lacking if our budget is so much lower.

Plus from what I gather the CAA needs to do better as a conference when it comes to fan base I have gone to many CAA games and there’s like no fans at the games if we directed some of the budget to fan base that would definitely help. Also these schools need to look at the coaches salaries and than compare there playoff birth/wins and CAA championships for the past 10 years and maybe just maybe see if that programs needs new blood at the helm. Just saying.

We do. Definitely mid to upper levels.  I think our differences are within the assistant coaching ranks.

Some of this is older but still likely relative.
