MBB gets first CAA win with 3-point victory over UNCW

Zane Martin, after missing Saturday's game against James Madison due to "personal reasons", returned on Monday to lead the Tigers to a 72-69 win over UNCW. Martin scored 21 points to lead the Tigers on 8-of-19 shooting, while redshirt sophomore forward Solomon Uyaelunmo added 14 points and nine rebounds on 7-of-8 shooting.

Towson won this game in the paint with 44 points and also hit 17 of 22 free throws, including several late ones from sophomore Charles Thompson, who is 10 of 19 from the line this season. Thompson produced 10 points and nine rebounds off the bench.

The Tigers shot just 1-of-14 from three-point range and turned the ball over 14 times. UNCW shot just 5-of-19 from the three-point line and 35% overall. The Tigers outrebounded the Seahawks 40-29.

A win is a win. Uncw has a new coach, and hasn’t played in a month. 
We dominated down low and played to our strength. Uncw is small and played to their strengths, threes and spreading the court. 
 

need to clean up allowing bad offensive rebound, unforced turnovers (stepping out of bounds) and fouling jump shooters.

It’s going to be real interesting this year to see what adjustments are made after game 1 of the back to backs. 
top 40 in rebounds this year

338th in assists at 8.7/game. (Out of 340 teams)

268th in scoring. Lucky most other caa teams are struggling to shoot and score as well

I like what we're seeing from Solly this year. He's made improvement, and could become a force, IMO, if that continues.
