Is JMU leaving the CAA? YES

Recommended Posts

The grass isn't always greener. Look what happened to ODU going to C-USA. It's been a disaster financially and on the field. There will be realignment in the Group of Five so will be to the Sun Belt? C-USA? AAC?

I’m sure their fans would find a Sun Belt or C-USA invite insulting. SEC or bust.

They bring nothing to the table in terms of what really matters to large conferences…a tv 📺 market. Ironically, being in the Baltimore/DC region, we’d have more appeal, but we don’t have the attendance or an FBS football stadium.

Also, travel costs are a huge factor. Who wants to pay to fly and lodge your volleyball team from Virginia to El Paso?

Let em go.  ODU football has been non-existent since leaving the CAA.  What's Mason done in basketball since leaving the CAA for the A-10?  Not saying that the CAA is the be-all, end-all but the wins don't always follow whatever extra money you might get for being in a 'bigger' conference.

It makes sense financially to be aligned with schools nearby instead of having to send the tennis team or soccer to Texas State or Arkansas State annually.
