So you believed football should have been cut instead of the two minor sports?

No, that's not what I meant. I lived through football getting eliminated in 1990 and I realized its importance. Plus, I love the sport and this program. I don't think he should have eliminated both sports at once. Maybe just one at that point, but I actually think men's soccer was the better program. I don't know if it's worth cutting a quality program like men's soccer to enhance your football program, unless you are going FBS.

My point was that most football coaches at this level don't get the institutional support that other coaches do at more high-profile football programs or P5s. I'm not giving RA a free pass for the last seven years. You can. That's your opinion. Just recruit a good QB other than Tom Flacco and you're not in this situation.

Now getting back on topic, who will take over this job in 2022?

Happy New Year Matt! Excuse my ignorance, but does this bode well for us?

To you too. I think it’s just a formal thing a lot of schools do before hiring a coach or AD. It’s a search firm so it’s not a bad thing and it means it’s time to get busy trying to find candidates. I’m sure the holidays and Covid held things up.

Whomever winds up calling the shots needs to take a look at what Charlotte's done with football in a very short period of time. Everything TU could hope for while dealing with the same type setting: major metro area, 'commuter school' stigma, nearby pro sports, D1 programs and recreational activities, etc.

They found the magic bullet and are in a solid conference w/quality opponents and selling out w/15k+ every game.

Get the comparison but there are lots of big differences.
uncc has about 6,500 more undergrads, more in state %, 53-47 male to female ratio. Also take in account football is much bigger in NC than MD and their stadium is much more accessible than Unitas
