Is he a senior? If not is he a fill in for cam? My concern is he didn’t shoot any threes. 6’5 at a lower level he probably bullied a lot of people. Not sure if he would be able to be on the court with either charles or chase.

If St. Bonaventure is in on him, and he’s from NY, we may not have to worry about how he fits in here. It is interesting that he only took one 3-point shot all last season. A real throwback player. He was a double/double machine. No idea what the caliber of competition he played against was

He's a senior and has one year left.  He started out at Saint Rose for two seasons. It's possible that he has a three-point shot and that his teams only needed him to post up because he was probably stronger than everyone he faced. He looks a lot bigger than his listed 200 pounds. My guess is he's around 6-5, 215ish. Charleston just signed a D2 guy. St. Bonny's wants him. I think he's a player, but my concern is the fit. He appears to be a 4. Cam is a 4. Nic is mainly a three. We need a combo and a lengthy forward around 6-7ish like Juwan Gray.  They both are terrific rebounders for their size. He's a 79% FT shooter. That bodes well for a potential 3-point shot. I'll say this. He does appear to have a very long reach and is pretty athletic.

Watching his highlights against Miami-Fla. in an ex. game, he reminds me of JD. Pure back to the basket and left-handed. Really strong and long. Again, not sure where the fit is with CT, Cam and Sylla all post players, though Cam has somewhat of a perimeter game.

Upstate NY and Brooklyn. Big difference. If he wants to go to a better conference, I understand. St. Bonaventure is 6+ hours away from Brooklyn and we are 3+ hours. Not sure he's an A10 player as a 6-5 post. I did see him slash to the basket and show some nice spin moves. Maybe he can play in the A10, but probably not start. I think he'd thrive in the CAA or lower.

Not saying that I don’t want him or that he wouldn’t be good. 6’5 with only 1 three attempted is just odd now a days.  Fobbs came from a lower level juco and was a very good offensive player.
But like you mentioned the fit is questionable

You know what they say-if you can make it in Olean, you can make it anywhere 😆

F Gabe Dorsey, 6-6, 215, Vanderbilt (Westminster, Md)

Another local player transferring from a high major. Three years left. Father Stephen played at Towson and VMI (played from 1987-89 at Towson)

Very much a longshot though

Granted, it’s a small sample size at Vandy, but this is the kind of guy who makes me nervous and I hope we don’t pursue. The guy who couldn’t get off the bench at a larger program (for whatever reason) and is thus quite frankly unproven. Besides, we’ve already gone down the Vandy road before, with A.J. Astroth (obviously, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take another Vandy guy, but I still hope we don’t go after this particular one)

Russell is 6-4, 205, Great rebounding guard. About 35% from three-point. Again, though he's a good passer, not sure the fit I guess would take Rizzuto's place and sound like a similar player but much better rebounder.

I do like this quote

“Just knowing it’s been my fourth year, I’d rather go out with a ring than average 20 points for the season,” Russell said. “And I don’t know if I can honestly say that was different for all those years. So, this year I’m just really trying to figure out how I can win and how I can get certain guys on certain pages so that we can all come together.”

I would think that with three scholarships available, you can take a chance on a young player from a high major with three years left, who is a four star. He might just be a better mid-major player and at that size, may be able take Cam's PF spot in 2023-24. Probably will end up at another high major like Penn State, who recruited him or an Ivy League.
