Why are some of the players wearing sports bras in the workout video?

Assuming heart monitoring device etc to see how much effort they are giving

Correct,  these are monitors worn by FB, Basketball , lax etc.  They monitor the athletes vitals while  also providing  data from on the field performance.  IE how fatigued the athlete is, jumping, sprinting etc

Just read an interesting story about a kid named Pratt, who verbally committed to Duquesne last fall but for some reason didn’t sign a letter of intent. Duquesne recently told him they weren’t reneging on its offer, but instead was “adjusting” it by “requesting” Pratt go to prep school for a year, and then enroll at Duquesne in the fall of 2023. The reason-Duquesne decided it wanted to use Pratt’s scholarship on someone in the …wait for it…transfer portal. According to the article, Pratt was somewhat surprised (imagine that) to learn of Duquesne’s adjustment of its offer, and has now reopened his recruitment.

Pratt’s story reminds me of how the transfer portal has radically altered the landscape of college basketball. We can debate whether this alteration is for the better or worse, but I wonder how many kids like Pratt are getting cast aside (though he may very well wind up at another D1 program) and how practically all vestiges of loyalty to one school has been replaced by a never ending supply of Hessians, some of whom will play for 3-4 schools before their college “career” is over. Obviously there are legitimate circumstances (coaching changes, family issues, being recruited over…) explaining why some players transfer, but at least the old “sit one” rule still allowed a kid to transfer and ostensibly devote his sit out year to academics-(a crazy notion, I know) without leading to the free agent frenzy we now have.

You’ll like this one. Teddy allen from NMSU is transferring to his 6th school in 6 years!  He will be 24 prior to the start of school year

The system is broke and frankly in some cases, corrupt, but unfortunately the genie is out of the bottle, all in the misguided name of expanding the rights of players. Maybe if enough coaches complain about the Teddy Allen’s of the world, things could change, but I highly doubt it. The NCAA has largely been reduced to a paper tiger
