I understand that we are stuck with what we have in order to support teams. I love the O's and Ravens....but it gets harder. many of my friends who were incredible fans are losing interest year by year. Just saying it is getting tough.

As a sports fan what other option do you have?

This is why as much as I think we need to better players to lift them up, it is easy to root for Charles Thompson, Jason Gibson and Nick Timberlake. They needed higher-level players like Nolan Jr. and Holden to get them to the next step this past year, but they are the character glue to this team (hopefully I don't jinx it and make one of them leave).

Those guys have put in their time and developed under Skerry. All three have their limitations, but they all got a lot better once we put guys around them who let them do what they do best. Hopefully we can get our payoff with those guys, because I really appreciate their dedication to the program.

The more you post these names the more I get back to what a crapshoot the Transfer Portal is for mid-major schools. The one thing I liked about last year's transfers was that Cam and Rizzuto (although he didn't work out great, I still think he was a good gamble) were all-conference performers. No matter what level of D-1 the conference is I like to know that the players who we are getting were some of the better players in the league. Also Nolan Jr. was a starter at GW and Bradley.

I am interested to see if last year was just a lucky and good year for us in the portal, and if Skerry can get similar quality from it this year. If I were to rank it out of 10, I would say last year was an 8 in terms of success in the portal. It is hard to do that every year, but coaches are starting to be more savvy when it comes to philosophies for recruiting the portal and using previous connections to get good players.

Towson MBB dynasty: 2/28/22 - 3/7/22. Very disappointing, where does he think he can go with no jump shot and undersized to play 4 in a bigger conference? We fit his game perfectly. Grass has never been greener for others who have left, Four made some shots in grad year at URI and Gorham had team success as 6th man for Houston. Had as good of a shot as any one bid league next year, would be difficult to replace second main cog to the system. I can only assume leaving a legacy at a school and getting the dance might just not be at the top of kids' priorities these days.

I hope Cam returns.  The tweet was cryptic, maybe he is exploring his options.  Cam is really talented - I think he will do well no matter where he goes, but do agree his game was really well suited for us.  I wish him success wherever he goes and am grateful he played with such heart for us.  The transfer portal is a double edged sword - it rewarded us handsomely last year and I hope it does so again this year.

Agreed, generally about the grass not being greener, but Gorham hit it big.  He was a key contributor (starter, not a 6th man) on a very good Houston team that made a nice run in the tourney.  I don't think the portal really worked out well for Zane, Four or Betrand.

If Nolan, Gray, and Jones leave and Rizzuto returns, we have two young players coming in with May and Williamson, That would only leave us with one ship left. I would assume more leave nn. Now, we need to fill those holes with veterans: 1)Point guard. 2)Wing. 3)Versatile forward

PG Gibson, Hicks, Gill

SG Rizzuto (Gibson), Williamson

Wing Timberlake, May

PF Holden, Coleman

C Thompson, Paar, Biekeu
