There's no doubt, that there will be player movement. There is every season for every team. The bigger questions are whether Terry Nolan and Antonio Rizzuto use their extra year of eligibility, but with grad students, you never know. Knowing that Nolan has a family now, he needs to make a living. Ruzzuto played with a knee injury all season. Not major, but will probably need a scope in the offseason.

Not going to guess which undergrads enter the portal, but there will be a few or a couple that really don't have much of a role next season or in the future. That leaves us with Juwan Gray and Curtis Holland as the two available scholarships. However, there were 14 available ships this season if you had a grad student who was in Gray's situation (injured in 2020-21).

If Nolan and Rizzuto return, we have 14 scholarships. So that can't happen. Let's assume Nolan is gone (freshmen in bold). So if Towson is to add at least one point guard and another pure score (ala Brian Fobbs) who can create and finish off the dribble. at least two players from that 13 need to go. Shooting guard and small forward are basically the same at mid-majors. Gibson and Williamson can play some two, but it's obvious that we need at least one more wing in the rotation. Nolan was able to play the 1, 2, and 3.

PG Gibson, Hicks, Gill, Dylan Williamson

SG Rizzuto,

SF Timberlake, D. Jones,

PF Cam Holden. Tyler Coleman, Christian May

C Thompson, Paar, Biekeu

Nolan made it clear he is done

I know. I asked the question, but he does have a year left. I would say he’s 98% out the door and in no offense to his game, but I’d like to see a better finisher at the rim.

I know Nolan laid an egg in the CAA tourney but during the season, we were a very different team with him then we were without him. I think u need someone to facilitate like he did for who u bring in.

I’d be all for Nolan returning. When he played well, we were a better team. If you think about it, he was really the only guy we had who could create his own shot off the dribble. Timberlake is a jump shooter, who gets occasional breakaway dunks, and Rizzuto & Gibson were completely reliant on outside shooting.

That being said, I think it’s safe to assume Nolan is gone. He was quoted I believe as saying this was his last senior day. Same with Rizzuto, who also voluntarily chose to participate in senior day.

We know for sure that Gray and Holland’s scholarships have been backfilled by the 2 incoming freshmen (Williamson & May). So, assuming Nolan & Rizzuto are gone, that’s 2 open ships. Now, out of Bieku, Jones, Gill and Coleman I’m guessing maybe 2 of them depart, which would leave 4 open ships. Last year we brought in 4 guys from the portal (Holden, Paar, Rizzuto and Nolan) and maybe 4 more will be onboarded this fall. Hopefully that group will include a PG who can distribute, a guy who can create his own shot off the dribble, and a front court guy to compliment CT

Now let's talk about recent transfers:

I'm trying to look for good fits. At least basketball-wise and if we offered them, it only makes it better.

Transfers up to 436

G Michael Gray (6-2, 202), George Mason. Not offered by Towson, but had some pretty big names offer him including Cincinnati and Va. Tech. Rarely played.

Just looking for a pure scorer who can play some point and dominate at a mid-major?
