mat1992 2,231 Report post Posted March 18, 2022 Mariah Adams hits a three-pointer at the buzzer over Nelson to give ODU a 34-31 halftime lead. Not a bad showing by Towson overall. ODU is better, more physical and more athletic. Maybe that's why Kornegay-Lucas is not effective because she can't bully her way to the basket against them. Of course, you'd like to see them shoot better than 32.8% from the field. A lot of that is due to tough man-to-man D by the Monarchs. Coach Rich called a quick timeout after a minute. Tucker needs to stop turning it over. Honestly, she hasn't been the same player since she injured her ankle weeks ago. mat1992 2,231 Report post Posted March 19, 2022 44-40 ODU. Towson's defense has been ok, but they've left Allen open too many times. She has 16 points and has 4 threes on six attempts. At least Nelson is now 5 of 14 with five assists. Would like to see her dish more off penetration because she's drawing the defense to her. Team is hanging in there. ODU is making so many great passes out of the post, high post or low post. Just the extra pass had helped them extend the lead. Nelson takes a lot of shots. I know they want her to shoot, but she has the ball in her hands all the time. Sometimes nobody touches the ball, esp the post players for several possessions.
