Hofstra thread

Recommended Posts

Boring second quarter as both defenses have settled in. Hofstra finally scores with 6:44 left and they are up 8-4.

Defense M.I.A. Hofstra wants this game more. Brennan not seeing the ball. Not all his fault. It's 9-4. This is not a great Hofstra team. Obviously not a great Towson team. The CAAs will be played at Drexel so seedings don't matter a whole lot. But giving up 9 goals in the first half to Hofstra. Just embarrassing.

Looks like terrible news. Berkeley goes down after shooting the ball high to high right into goaltender's stick. He took a shot as usual and now is down. Holding his knee. He's getting up slowly. Limping off. Doesn;t look serious and I'm sure he'll get it looked at during the half.

9-5 at the half. Stewart had the shot with 2 secs left but passed it off to Shilling and he scored just after the time expired. Typified the performance this half. Not good. Biggest concern is Berkeley.

11-7 as Sykes scores. Mids are just getting taking to task, though Brennan has not stepped up. Shilling had another chance at the crease, but couldn't bury it.

12-7 Hofstra going into the fourth quarter. Barring a miracle, Hofstra is just going to milk the clock the entire quarter and take this game. Didn't look prepared for this one. At least Berekely is back, but they don't have much momentum going into what will be a very wide open CAA Tournament next week in Philadelphia. Good news is that Berekely is back. Not sure about Ryan Swain, who missed today's game with an injury.

Good game for DeMaio. Sets the single-season shot record and scores his fourth goal. Now 12-8. Hofstra also needs Fairfield to beat Delaware to get in the CAAs.
