Top 10 Offensive Tackles

Recommended Posts

Once again, all D-1AA (FCS) though props to Stan Eisenhooth. Who did play for Seattle and the Indianapolis Colts in the late 80s at tackle and center. Tough to judge tackles to it's based on honors they received and how good the offenses were as well as just by my eyes and ears.

1)Jermon Bushrod (2003-06). Towson HOfer. Was first-team All-A10 in 2006 and second-team All-A10 in 2005. Super Bowl champ with the Saints. Two x Pro Bowler who played from 2007-18 in the NFL. Fourth-round pick in 2007.

2)Eric Pike (2010-13). Outstanding left tackle who paved the way for Towson's best FCS teams from 2011-13. Was named fourth-team All-American in 2012 and first-team All-American in 2013. First team All-CAA in 2013 and 2012. Eventual Towson HOFer.

3)Karl Nieberlein (1990-93). Outstanding left tackle for one of the top OL units of all time at Towson. Protected Dan Crowley's blindside and barely let him get touched, while opening up holes for Tony Vinson and Brian McCarty. Was third-team ALl-American in 1993. HOFer

4)Randall Harris (2010-13). HM All-American in 2013. First team All-CAA in 2013 and 2012. Arguably best RT in school history who started out at guard.

5)Brian Wronski (1997-2000). Was first-team All-Patriot League in 2000 and second team in 1999. HM All-American in 1999.  Played left tackle for one of the best offenses in school history in 1999.

6)Hank Glackin (2008-11). Outstanding left tackle with good size at 6-6, 290. Was named second-team All-CAA in 2011. Played on first FCS playoff team and one of the keys to an offense that was becoming one of the best in the nation.

7)Matt Kauffman (2014-18). Outstanding right tackle who was named first-team All-American in 2018 and first-team All-CAA in 2018.

8)John Loch (1991-94). Big right tackle (6-4, 280). One of the more underrated players who played for an outstanding line from 92-94.

9)Adam Nepp (1998-2000). Outstanding left and right tackle in the PL years. Earned second-team All-Patriot League in 1999 and first-team All-PL in 2000.

10)Andrew Garnett (2016-21). Highly-regarded huge LT (6-5, 325) coming out of HS. Good run blocker, opening up holes for Shane Simpson had protecting Tom Flacco. Overshadowed by LG Aaron Grzymkowski.
