Nicolas Timberlake scored a career-high 34 points, but it wasn't enough as the Tigers fell at Charleston 83-75 before a crowd of 5,102. Timberlake had little help as he was the only player in double digits. Cam Holden struggled from the field (2-for-11) and the line (3-7), while Charles Thompson went 1-of-4 for five points and nine rebounds and fouled out in 26 minutes. Towson committed 16 turnovers and shot 47% from the field, but the game was lost at the line where they shot 10-of-18 in the second half and 14-of-24 (58.3%) for the game.

Meanwhile, Charleston, who shot just 4-of-16 from beyond the arc, made up for it by going 22 of 26 from the line. They also made 13 of 23 from the field in the second half. They had six players in double figures led by Reyne Smith with 13 points.

PS after the game on TSN

"Great environment. Crowd affected us late. We haven't yet been able to get over the hump on the road. Stretches where we didn't get too crazy with the tempo. Still haven't had that night where a lot of guys play well.

"We foul too much. Missed FTs. I thought that hurt us. Have to look at it. Tough one. Guys were ready to play. Didn't finish the deal. That's been our MO. To finish. Haven't done that yet. "

Not disappointed in the loss. The way it happened was extremely disappointing. Falling apart in the halfcourt. Maybe Pat was right in the postgame that the crowd did have an impact with the noise. Couldn't really tell on TV, but seniors need to make senior plays. Not play like freshmen. The best players at times other than Timberlake were Hicks, Conway and May and you're not beating good teams when Russell, Thompson and Holden combine for 4 of 20 shooting and 0-3 3pt with 6 of 13 from the line with four turnovers.

It doesn't bode well for the future when Hicks gives you 2 assists and 4 turnovers. I know he had an incredible 30-footer at the buzzer at the half, but didn't love his game either. There's really no floor general and while you can say that about Charleston, they have a bunch of guys that can handle the ball. We were also driving on them early on left and right and then PK brings in his better defenders like Jaylon Scott and Pat Robinson and they slow Timberlake down and wear him out. Not sure he'll have much left for UNCW but he is a machine. Have to give him a ton of credit.

There really is nothing new to say about this team. Whenever the game is close and coaching matters.....coming up with a set or a play that can make the difference, this coaching staff is nowhere to be found. In Skerry's own words. ...That's been our MO...to Finish....Haven't done that yet.....Coach, look in the mirror and you will figure out why this team has not finished games.

Much like we expected. Assess kicked by d2 guys. Kelsey has an eye for talent and can coach, skerry… well… I’ll be nice. No go to guys. (As good offensively nick was , he was horrendous defensively).
Start recruiting kids who can score. Go to nj and nyc. Please!

10 wins (including goucher) the next 3 years combined.   Two more years pat and co choked.  Seriously someone tell Me we can win 1,2, and go forbid 3 games in a row. Bunch of nice guys but holy shut this team is softer than the coach.

Rinse wash and repeat. “Not disappointed” though.  Only caa team without a trip To finals. Thanks Pat!

It's all about D.C. now. It's hard to be confident in this team when we've waited all season for our top three scorers to put together a complete game. That won't happen for three straight and probably not for one, so we're basically relying on the others to find a way.

Tejada is from New Jersey and he's big with skills. That's a start. But desperately need three very good transfers. Obviously need some scorers, not just shooters, but also long defenders. At least one leader-type would be nice.

I'm a 90s boy. Do you think I'm happy with 19 or 20 wins?

Guards.  Not Alex Thomas 2.0. It’s not the players anymore. It’s the staff. Different styles and attributes. All conference players. Players for the years.  No more wins when it matters the pk.  Crazy but true.

lame duck skerry is here for another half decade but please make him change these crappy coaches next to him. It can’t hurt

Alex Thomas 2.0 shows you that you are just guessing.

I would say combo of staff and players. Yes, all-conference guys but two of those players can't shoot. Russell can't shoot. Hicks can't shoot. Sylla can't finish against bigger players. Conway can shoot but is a 15-minute player right now. May can shoot in the corner. We know Nic can shoot. We need guys that can attack the basket and finish. Mid-range whatever, but they need to play the other end.

Lol. Been waiting over a year now.  Be happy with a 19/20 win team. We know you and the old timers are.  AD, president are too.

another year of skerry wasting  talent
