2023-24 Transfer Thread

They are keeping it quiet. Still plenty of options out there, but not sure who we're after aside from Blackney and Watson.

It’s been nearly two calendar months since someone posted that Blackney was close to committing to us. Given this passage of time I’ve got to wonder whether there’s still mutual interest. I mean the drafting of the Declaration of Independence probably didn’t take this long (historians out there, sorry if I got this wrong). Disclaimer: I’m not so sure Blackney would be that significant of an addition to begin with, but we may not have a lot of other viable alternatives.

Watson and Blakney are basically combo forwards. I probably wouldn't want both. I would wait for Watson but I can see us taking both if they wanted to come. I've seen that Blakney is taking visits. He's taking his time which is fine when you are in your mid-20s to 50s. I like his length and defensive ability. I guess he is taking it all in when it comes to the trips (Pacific, UNCG).

Memo to Skerry: absent breaking some NCAA rule, do whatever it takes to get Watson, if he’s still available.

Blackney is entitled to take all the time he wants. I just wouldn’t leave a spot open for him indefinitely. Then again, if we don’t have any other fish on the line (which only Skerry knows).

Btw, if anyone cares, it apparently took Jefferson 17 days to draft the Declaration of Independence. That’s Thomas, not George. George was busy at the time moving to a deluxe apartment in the sky. Sorry, it’s just with the lull in transfer news, my mind is wandering

Well, let’s see. C of C has 700K or so in its NIL, while we have bagels 🥯. Wonder how this will play out 🤔.  Hope he goes anywhere but C of C

Didn't event put Mushila, Traylor and Martinez on the list because they seem so far out of our range. Also moved up the guys off the board and bolded the newest ones. I will be the first one to admit I have no idea who is good or not when it comes to a lot of these guys, but the research helps me to track realistic options. It feels like if we get to D-2 or juco it is a complete crapshoot as was evidenced by the lower level quality we got from a D-2 National Player of the Year compared to some of the other D-2 transfers whose skills were better suited for their new programs.
