Yes, 20 turnovers after a terrible third quarter, but they played as well as they played all season overall against the best team in the CAA. We could see them in the final, but have to take care of Drexel or Stony Brook first. If Hofstra loses, Towson faces Delaware again. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
mat1992 2,229 Report post Posted April 29, 2023 Very good win today. The Blue Hens are a very talented and experienced team. Finally got out there with decent weather. Garrett Z. did a great job on Kurtz and Matt C. was incredible on face-offs (17-9). The turnover bug almost cost them in the third quarter (20 overall, 9 in 3 Q). They settled down in the fourth quarter and finished the job. Evan Long also played very well in net. Waiting on Hofstra/SBrook tonight to see where they well finish up. Not going to go back to shooting % (47 shots, 23 on cage), but we were incredibly aggressive today. Like that we were pushing it some and not just holding the ball for 60 seconds. Second midfield is still an issue and was hoping for Chop Gallagher to return from injury, but that's not going to be the case. That third quarter cannot happen in the CAAT if they want to advance. Take away that quarter and might have put up 20 goals. Our passing was the best I've seen all year except when we tried to force inside to Schrier as the Hens were playing zone and packing it in.
