MBB blows 11 point lead, falls at JMU , 79-73

Another road game, another blown lead. This time, horrific foul shooting and horrendous second-half defense to blame. JMU shot 61.5 percent in the second half and 52.8 percent overall. Stuckey Mosley is a good player but 35 points in 39 minutes on 12-of-21 shooting? Nobody could stay in front of him and nobody would take a charge.  This is where we miss Morman, an athletic defender who could slow him down. The Gorham/Keith frontcourt played almost the entire second half. Thomas played just 7 minutes likely due to the injury he suffered in the Delaware game. Tunstall played just 11 minutes and not well defensively but could have used him some in the second half to protect the rim. 16-33 from the line isn't going to get it done. Keith was 6-of-14 and Gorham was  3-7. I really don't want EK playing 34 minutes and going to the line 14 times. Sorry. He was benched for a reason, to play Gorham more at power forward. Morsell and Martin with a combined 18 of 41 with 48 points. Just wish either one would hit a big shot late in games.

Zane and Justin also need to control their temper. Zane picked up his second tech in second straight game. Frustrations are boiling over. Eddie (also has an issue), Brian or MIke have to lead more on the court. Push them away. Leadership just not there from seniors. Eddie looking for shot as if he's Zane. Needs to drive and kick instead of drive and miss.

Only saw the last few minutes today, but it was enough to cuss about our free throw performance.

What is our percentage for the year? It must be atrocious.  Utterly ridiculous!

I think it was the Wm & Mary game - hat game wouldn’t have been close if we could shoot from the line.

What does this team work on in practice?  It’s like they have performance anxiety or stage fright come game time. Does Towson have a Sports Psychologist on its staff?  They could use one.

Embarrassing loss.

Who are we going to beat the rest of the season????

Drexel-probable L

Delaware-should win

NE (x2)- probably 2 L’s. Best case a split

JMU-iffy. Not sure we beat them, even at home

Hofstra-likely L

Hello play-in game

Embarrassing

Eddie and Starr had the ball exclusively at the end. Why wasn’t it with the two best players?!

We have no depth, don’t rebound or defense anymore

gorham makes jd look like a competent defender

fts were horrific this game but overall on the year we have been very good. 71.5 is highest in skerry era, including a team that has four McGlynn

obviously rock bottom was 1-31 but the last 7.5 days have been the worst since that year imo

Gorham has been a major disappointment on D but he's a lot better when he's playing power forward. Not at center. I know the post is the post but 4s now are basically like 3s. I thought rock bottom was last year with the 0-4 start.

True about gorham. Post d is all about the work before they get the ball.  Alex actually gets good positioning but then doesn’t go straight up.  The dude with the long hair just got so deep in the paint that when he got the ball he could just lay it in

He got open because we let Mosley dribble-penetrate all day so Gorham had to come off his man to help. Nobody was really big enough to rotate. Keith tries but he's too short at 6-5. Alex is the best post defender by far though he was banged up today. Not sure if he would have made a difference. I would have used Tunstall more against Phillips though Dennis was not good today either.

The big picture problem is that we seem to keep making the same mistakes over and over and nothing is being corrected game to game.  If anything, they are regressing as the season goes on and at this point of the season they should be hitting on all cylinders.

Just very disappointing that this isn’t going to be the season many of us thought it was going to be.

Absolutely no focus or attention to detail with this group.
