DWill can shoot it. May is inconsistent. But let's not act like everyone is Tarke (32.9% 3pt). May shot 34.1% last season, Tejada shot 35.2% from 3, and Dylan shot 33.8%. Not horrible but I agree that we don't have that sharpshooter or at least proven sharpshooter. Conway was very good at that one skill. Not great at everything else. But he's not here. Timberlake was never a good shooter until his redshirt junior season. He developed into a very good 3-point shooter. May was a better shooter as a freshman, but would have liked to see him develop a more consistent shot. He, Tejada, and DWill would really benefit from a MUCH faster pace this season. We return all of our “shooters” from last year, so would hope we improve slightly at least on that number. Preaching to the choir but this team would be better in transition (Pat will not run). With Conway, aka Riller and JWF combo officially gone, will this Cole kid actually play And contribute? Everyone on here was high on him but in minimal action he looked awful imo. mat1992 2,453 Report post Posted October 28 It’s obvious that we have some pretty good shooters with Tejada being the best, but we don’t have a Gibson, Timberlake or RC who were proven 38-42% marksmen from three. Conway was the best pure shooter on the team, but that’s all he did. Even if you look at his juco stats, almost all of his shots came from three point range. I like Dylan’s game a lot more. Never loved his shot because it’s a weird release with almost no rotation. It not only impacts his three point shooting but his FT shooting. He’s a scorer more than shooter. But if you are defending this team, you’re going to give some shooters a ton of space and we know who they are. To me, the key are the bigs. Embeya has to be impactful on both ends by conference play. He’s 6-9, 225 and has added some weight since he got here. These first three games against the big.boys counting the Gaels should really help him. Also need at least 10 points combined from Jones and Tomiwa each game including keeping the defense honest with an occasional three. It was a little shocking that Sulaiman starts and took all four shots from three. But at 6-6 with limited leaping ability, he’s probably not going to be successful inside against any of those three teams with their size and length, but hopefully he realizes he’s about 225 and can score against most mid- majors. As for Cole, he’s not Conway who was a three star and recruited to Seton Hall for a reason. But he also has put on about 20 pounds or more since last season. He’s 6-4 and long unlike Conway but it becomes a confidence thing. Is he good enough to be a rotation player at this level? Not sure but this will be the year to find out.
