Grad transfer for next season?

Recommended Posts

The kid Scott-Grayson has 3 years of eligibility left (like Damas did, I think). Plus, you gotta love the name of the school he currently attends-State Fair Community College. That’s just a great name! Interesting side note-his school is in the same conference as the school J.J. Mathews transferred to, Moberly Area Community College. Matthews’ stats are meh-8 points & 8 boards a game, and he must be injured, because he hasn’t played in a month or so.

Several of the outstanding offers appear to be for small forward types, though you’re right, the rest are for guys who are clones of each other-6’2 & 175

Averaged 22 ppg & 4 assists in HS in S Carolina. Has visited Coastal Carolina, JMU & C of C. He follows one of our coaches on Twitter, for whatever that’s worth. He also has a lot of retweets of JMU basketball on his Twitter

He has retweeted a good amount of JMU stuff. Hopefully we can get him here.

Interesting. Skerry’s a New England guy, so I assume he’s got connections up there. According to verbal commits, he’s also got offers from Niagara, Hartford & Boston U. Wonder how his game would play in the CAA? If he can shoot 3’s, sign him up!!!

He’s also been offered by Siena, &, at least according to this article, has garnered interest from NE & UNCW

Some guys get better, bigger and stronger after going to prep school. He'd have more of chance to play than most freshmen. Dottin did the same thing. Not saying he's the missing link. Just interesting that he's not a juco combo guard but again, you can't just offer one guy.

As far as freshmen playing, you aren't going to win a lot of games by starting freshmen but they could be in your rotation. They have to be ready physically and mentally. Solid ballhandling skills, poise, defense, etc. Looks like he has the build to play right away, the athleticism and a pretty good shot. Can he defend? Can he handle the ball under duress? Not turn it over? BB IQ? Who knows but it would be nice to have a 6-3 guard who can shoot. Not saying Betrand can't but he appears to be more of a grinder.

We’ve got a boatload of offers out. Now that the season is over, I suspect Skerry will ramp up the recruiting
