2024 FCS Power Rankings

Recommended Posts

I guess I missed Missouri State moving up to the FCS. Another similar university moving on while we are stuck with Flo and terrible-looking conference schedule in the near future.

From when we joined the CAA to now

joined CAA footbal

  • Umass (FBS)
  • JMU (FBS)
  • Delaware (FBS)
  • ODU (FBS) - 4th and 29, lol
  • Georiga State (FBS)
  • Hoftra (dropped FB, focused on MBB)
  • NE (dropped FB, always been about hockey. still been better than us at MBB)
  • Richmond (getting the f out of dodge to find more peer academic schools in PL. always been about MBB in the A-10)

We now get:

  • Albany. fine with them, don't understand why they are not full members
  • Maine. fine with them, don't understand why they are not full members
  • UNH. fine with them, don't understand why they are not full members
  • Stony Brook. Fine
  • W&M. fine but they are likely looking around too and saying none of these schools look like our peers
  • Elon, Bryant, Monmouth, Campbell. small and private. zero name value
  • NCAT. HBCU
  • URI. They are going to pull a Richomd or UMass at some point
  • Villanova. they are going to pull a Richomd or UMass at some point

Basically, there are two schools like us in the entire conference with full membership. and when that assumes W&M would even consider us a peer.

  • Thanks 1

Ding. What do we want to be?! Tough to have 3 men’s sports and try and be competitive at all 3 with our budget

FYI…. The Towson athletics budget is in the  top 10% of all mid-majors/1AA

My solution is to leave this weak ass conference that lacks leadership.  It is also to spend money where our path to success is greatest.  It may surprise you that I think there is a sport/funds/scholarships that should be replaced with one that doesn’t get what it needs. And no, I’m not talking about your beloved Fall sport…
100% on the ARETE and shinick train this Fall. Looking forward to see if they can break  .500 this year and maybe get to 7-5!
What’s your prediction??

I’ve been told by plenty on here (not you) that we just can’t compete with our peers because of money, facilities, NIL etc. so you’re telling me this is not true?!  Then our ROI is no good.

There’s the answer!!!! So,  your plan would be to eliminate football and move to the A10?  I assume that’s what your are insinuating.  Oh, that’s been your goal from day 1 on this board.  I m just the one who calls you out.
To your point about budgets….. we spend more than some 1A schools…. So yeah, we do have the budget to compete with anyone in our league and some G5’s.  NIL is entirely different animal. I agree with your assessment of the  CAA. Can’t stay in this conference and expect people to contribute big $ for NIL.  >>>>>>G5.

What school left in our conference has better facilities? ????

Who is saying that? No excuses for football with JMU gone and Delaware leaving.

Read that one again Wrong-Runda, and read it S-L-O-W-L-Y...

So we have the budget and other factors to compete, then why haven't we?!

CAA is a dumpster fire.

Probably none. WM and Elon have beautiful campus and rich alum so they possible could? JMU, UDel did but they are gone. Who would you say?
