Proposed 5% increase in student fees for athletics. What do you think?

Sort of understandable and won't be popular but it's not a huge boost. Still a commuter school that depends on these fees for survival. We can survive without the increase but it will help somewhat with coaching salaries, travel budget, recruiting budget, etc, thus hopefully leading to more wins.

Not so sure it is understandable. The better path would be for the fundraising arm to raise the necessary money. Otherwise, don’t spend money you don’t have. These kids already can’t afford college. Add increases in parking, meals, tuition, room an board and the debt the college students leave with just becomes worse. To my mind, it all comes back to fundraising, not increased student fees. If you can not raise enough money, it must not be important enough to a large enough base of people.

Fundraising isn't enough. Not at Towson. Not at a lot of schools in the CAA. We rank ninth in the CAA in basketball budget. Somehow we are competitive but we could be better. But then again, it's just a proposal.

Don’t know what kind of answer you weee expecting here.  Most everyone On this board is involved and interested in athletics.  Waiting for 06 to show up..
