I'd never heard of Briar Cliff, had to go online to learn it's in Iowa and an NAIA program. Football sounds like it's essentially DIII there, so this will be as big jump.

He was a LB coach at SMU but this appears to be one of those “we are only paying a certain amount for assistants” hire.

IDK about the exact salary. My guess is it's similar to the last salary,high 90s, low 100s. The guy might be great but JMU hired Maine's former DC. Delaware hired Jared and probably gave him nearly twice what he was making. We're hiring a guy who was highly respected but from an NAIA school. My guess is TL must have known him back at SMU when June Jones was the head coach.
