Northeastern nearly gets hosed but makes CAA/AEast Final

It doesn’t matter. They are both good teams, but one will advance to the Big Dance. The other goes to a Made for TV event which is, in reality meaningless.

I wouldn't call the NIT meaningless. Best case Scenario for our conference I feel like is Northeastern winning the game tonight to head to the NCAA's which sends Hofstra to the NIT

I feel as though it was not meaningless until the NCAA kept expanding and expanding the field. It is just so watered down now that the field is barely an above average field. Post season play is great, but you want the opportunity against elite squads and that is not the NIT, CBI, CIT or any other combination of letters that you want to come up with.

I agree but if Towson was headed to the NIT I would be thrilled. Other than the NIT and NCAA's I see it as pointless.

I think the field of 68 is fine, IF they let all AQ's (yes even the MEAC and SWAC) participate fully and not the play in game.  Give me the last 4 "Power" at large teams in against one another and 4 Mid Majors at larges playing against each-other in Dayton.

It will never happen but still gives the power conferences their money for the extra units and makes the games better.  This year you would have Libscomb, St Marys, Belmont and Furman. I think more people would watch those than the snore-fest 16 vs 16 games

NIT is still meaningful for mid majors. More practice time and a reward for winning your conference regular season.
