What a shock to see Turgeon resign before the year even ended. Getting boo’d at home by md fans and losing to VTech was the last straw for him. I thought his time was up after this year unless they made an elite eight run. Coaching carousel  continues

Maybe not and while the timing was weird, Turge's offense was unwatchable. No ball movement. Incredibly slow pace. Fans were turning on him. Students as well. They lost to a Va. Tech team at home that lost to Wake Forest by 20 in Blacksburg. They beat Hofstra by 2. They lost to a GMU team that isn't that good. They lost to Louisville in the Bahamas with Mike Peguese as the interim coach because Mack is suspended. It's tough to replace a HOF coach that won a title. Anything less than a Sweet 16 in most years is going to be considered a failure. They have no excuses. DMV+Baltimore. Some of the best talent in the nation and most end up elsewhere. Was a big fan growing up. Just paying attention now, but don't really care if they win or lose. Went there for a year when Bob Wade was coaching and they didn't win an ACC game. That was after Len Bias died and they gave out 4,000 jersey and sh-t the bed at home against Va. Tech. I think it's tough nowadays to root for P5 programs when the roster changes every year unless you are Duke or Gonzaga and replacing 5* guys with 5* guys even if you lose three five star guys.

Borderline top 20-25 program with those results. Delusional fans wanting 2-3 wins every year in ncaat at that school.  
He won but their problem is they play awful ooc every year and do not hit the road until January

Majority would be he and his staff. Not giving him a pass on that.  Just stating that a weak schedule and no road games before conference play doesn’t help anyone

Turgeon was a Midwest guy. Not a good fit. Whether Maryland fans wanted a better product or were delusional or not, he just wasn't the guy. He did better at Texas A&M than he did at Maryland when it came to the postseason. Not a bad coach, but recruiting was iffy for an area that was loaded with talent.

They took the Big Ten Football TV money and hoops has suffered. From a hoops standpoint losing Duke, UNC and the other ACC rivalries was a killer

Sunbelt member James Madison takes down a not so good UVA team in front of a sold out crowd in Harrisonburg on “national” tv. Not a smart move leaving that game on the tv schedule and taking the others off.
