He's just copying and pasting whoever shows up at the top of the league standings in.

How dare you!!!  I watched him at halftime of the Zags-USF game so he was up past midnight.  The man slaves over his brackets.  Now that being said we lose Saturday and UNCW is a 15 😄

It is truly so much fun just seeing our school name and if you follow X aka Twitter..  last night our Tiger 🐯 Nation was on fire 🔥 for once and it was all positive.

His 95% rate he boasts, isn't that impressive when it comes down to it.  There's typically 5-6 teams for the last 4 spots. Not too hard. He's focusing on teaching his course at St Joes..

It is and was!

UNCW would be a 13 seed, 14 at worse..

As I'm getting older, I'm becoming more of a numbers geek and less about what I see on the floor, but this streak just throws all of that off the top of TU Arena.

KenPom has us at

171st overall, 353rd in Tempo, 220th in Adjusted Offense, 134th in Adjusted Defense

Charleston

167th overall, 32nd in tempo, 2nd in Luck Rating (Towson is 13th), 169th in Adj Offense, 177th in Adj Defense

UNCW

109th overall, 91st in Ad. Offense, 164th Adj .Defense, 254th in Tempo

Elon

184th overall, 211 in Luck, 311 in Tempo, 184th in Adj. Offense, 196 in Adj. Defense

Campbell

177th overall, 300th in Luck, 255th in Adj. Offense, 106th in Adj. Defense, 238th in Tempo

The CAA is still rated 15th in the RPI Rankings of college basketball conference. Their top team is UNCW. The RPI rankings has us at 91st and .548 and UNCW at 68th at 0.562. Akron, another red-hot team, is at 54th. Charleston is at 76 and Elon is at 208.

BartTovik has us at 192 with an Adju Offense of 226 and 157 for defense. EFG% of 327 and 121st for Def. Offensive rebounding of 44. 2 points % of 330, 2 points% defense of 165, 3 point % of 277, 3pt D of 115,  and WAB of -4.4 for 130th. Which is wins above bubble (whatever that means).

Bottom line is that our numbers are slightly worse in a lot of categories in terms of defense and rebounding. Our 2% defense was 51st last season. Why? CT.

But somehow, that team while playing better later in conference play, went 11-7 in the CAA and their longest winning streak was five games.

Numbers don't tell the whole story of this streak but I realize that if you go by numbers, this team is not better than UNCW and probably not better than a slightly down CofC team. It doesn't measure heart, poise, resiliency and more. I've never seen a team on a winning streak like this one and let's face it, I haven't seen a ton of long ones in the last 30+ years. Not exactly dominant where we get behind in nearly every second half, and find a way to win. Not a great formula for the tournament or is it? We've had teams that pounded the lesser programs in the past and this squad hasn't shown a propensity to do that. Yet they floundered in postseason. Logic tells you that it's not good enough unless we play closer to 40 minute games the last couple of weeks and personally, we'd all like that for our blood pressure.

But this has been fun to get the notoriety that we crave. Flaws or no flaws.

Also, and I know there are stats for everything, but I'd like to find the clutch stats. That's what this team has done better than most of the Towson teams I've covered. They make plays in the last 4-5 minutes of games whether it's a big shot, offensive rebound or defensive stop. And they have clutch players who can make shots when it matters even when they aren't having great games.

During the streak, last 5 minutes + OT:

Scoring -- Towson 143, Opponents 94

FG% -- Towson 48.1% (38/79), Opponents 30.4% (31/102)

FT% -- Towson 70.4% (50/71), Opponents 75.7% (28/37)

Rebounds -- Towson 81, Opponents 59

That makes sense
