mat1992 Posted November 24, 2024 Report Posted November 24, 2024 Legend. Great coach and better guy https://x.com/towsontigers/status/1860805603788013956?s=46&t=nScacl1TWT-KyOwj5stBaw 1 Quote
Tiger93 Posted November 25, 2024 Report Posted November 25, 2024 I only date back to the early-to-mid-90s with my association with Towson (although I did grow up in the area prior through junior high school). To me, Carl Runk was the legend of all Towson legends. I took an Officiating class with him my senior year, and it was enjoyable (he taught up how to score gymnastics as judge, which was interesting). To me, him Vince Angotti and Phil Albert (who I also took a class from at Towson) were the Mount Rushmore coaches who built this athletic program into even getting to D-1, and in Runk's case being a top lacrosse program in the region and nation (which were basically the same thing at the time). He will be missed. 3 Quote
Blazer49 Posted November 25, 2024 Report Posted November 25, 2024 Coach was my academic advisor. Always looked forward to our meetings to hear all his stories and oh yeah for him to tell me to take Psychology of Sport. In addition to his coaching success he was a pretty darn good racquetball player. Quote

TheGoldCrotchPiece Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 Sad news. Had him for my racquetball professor senior year - my best two credits at TU. Great guy, bit of an oddball (in a cool quirky grandpa way) I had him when he was basically retired. Pretty sure he taught racquetball just to stay busy and mess with the youths. Quote
