This says it all:

The Tigers posted FCS's No. 49 total offense in 2024 at 379.2 yards per game; they were 55th in scoring at 25.8 ppg.

I think it’s a sign that Shinnick understands he’s going into the 3rd year of what I guess is a 5 year contract, and that the future is now. Discharging the current OC will only be a positive step if the new hire is a good hire. You would think there’d be no shortage of eager go getters, who want to make their mark and keep moving up the ladder

PS has Had “wide open” pass oriented offenses at the D2 level.  When he was hired, he said that he would bring that same offense to the Towson program.   He brought a disciple of that offense with him - and for the most part he’s been unable to run it.   IMO, against the upper tier D1AA teams, it will be difficult to execute.  The upper end of the CAA has a lot of good coaches and they have been able to win a lot of games.  Our inability to execute at a high level, really stymies this type of offense.
On the defensive side of the ball, Towson made the same mistakes in game 12 that they made in game 1!

A coach, seeing that something isn’t working, and making the change himself, at Towson?! (Maybe he should have crossed auburn drive and spoke to another coach with the same initials)

As for the report, I have no idea if this was the coach or the AD. If this was Pete, good for him on making the change.

It’s not just play calling but feel for the game. Managing the game. I’d like to see them go for it more and 4th and short but that’s on Pete. If they are going to be a better short yardage and red zone team, they need to use a fullback just for those situations

Just noticed this post/update.  I'm very pleased Coach Pete didn't waste any time and made the change quickly after the season. I have faith he'll make a quality OC hire.

Excited to see what type of recruiting class he pulls together!

Still waiting on the final name for OC. I believe, once he goes through the HR and procedure stuff, they will announce next week. Hearing an FBS assistant is in the mix, but we shall see.
