Unfortunately we were not playing UNCW or Charleston last night, so that NIL excuse cannot be made. What about the previous 13 years before NIL, or earlier when Charleston wasn't even in the league and UNCW was in rebuild/dormant years?

I will be supporting from afar moving forward, however if NIL is going to be the new go to year in and year out excuse, we should seriously consider moving to Am East, NEC, MAAC where we can be competitive financially. It is not logical to think that we cannot win a CAAT or compete long term with UNCW or Charleston unless we can complete with them NIL wise. We are not going to narrow the gap financial support wise no matter how hard the collective pushes, the gap is only going to get larger. So only option is to compete with them with mentally tough, skilled players (outside of Williamson, can only think of a few handful in the mentally tough department and knowing what it takes in the big moment) and sharp coaching (maybe in 2027 or whenever). Or if NIL is going to be the inhibiting factor moving forward, simply move down to a league where you can compete financially. To think that we will be able to catch up or even bridge somewhat of the gap to those southern schools is extremely far fetched and wishful thinking.

I'm guessing "Brentwood" is the same person as TTiger2024.  Evidently, all Towson fans are to be indebted to Pat Skerry, in perpetuity, for having cleaned up the mess of his predecessors and are to NEVER expect or desire more from him than what he has already delivered year after year.  We're all just a bunch of knuckle-dragging, ingrates.  How dare we want to go to the NCAA Tournament.  Give that man another extension!!

NIL excuse is just a weak crutch for these folks.  Charleston is paying 5 players 1.2 mill?   Remember half their roster is not from the US.  No money there. So how are they doing it.??!!

Also, hmm what do UNCW and Charleston have in common (besides campuses near the water) in the fall... hmmmm

It has to be! I don't think AJ will be showing after last night.      But, but but,...He took a 1-31 team (that HE coached) and turned it around.  Every single person here is thankful for that... but it was 15 F'ing years ago.  I had hair 15 years ago!.  That was the end of the first Obama administration!  The fact that EVERY one on here (and the commentators on TV) mention it at nauseum, grinds my gears!  We are way more than 1-31 and a big turn around, we are also 0-6 in Semis and have not and will not make a move on the LONGEST TENURED COACH IN D1 HOOPS, TO NOT MAKE A FINAL OR NCAAT

Hate to say it, but I agree. If we’re doomed to forever being the Kansas City A’s (old school reference, but I think everyone gets it) to the NYY and L.A. Dodgers (C of C and UNCW) let’s get out and move to another conference where we can be competitive in NIL. I mean, why not? The conference we would move to would have the same number of bids (1) to the tournament as the CAA.

And I also agree that even with the NIL discrepancy, that was a complete non-factor last night. And what about all the pre-NIL seasons where we failed to even make it to the conference championship game?

The “he pulled us from the abyss” mentality cannot exist in perpetuity.  No, it’s time for new direction, plain and simple

It is him! 🤣. I didn't have the old AD at Towson, calling fans out on twitter, to protect his hire from a decade & a half ago, on my bingo card!

Mikey seems to think Pat has 5 more years on that lifetime contract

Yes! I've been hammering us leaving the CAA for a while. All of our historical rivals are now gone. Our lax program is a joke these days - CAA lax is now a one bid league; just like MBB.

Let's go back to the America East - or start a splinter league. At least we can bully around UMBC most years.  All the America East football schools play in the CAA football already.

Albany - FB
Bryant - FB
Maine - FB
UNH - FB
Vermont - No FB
UMBC - No FB
Towson - FB
SB - FB
W&M - FB
Elon or Monmouth - FB

Bring Stony Brook and W&M with us from the public slide and Elon or Monmouth to pair with Bryant to have a private buddy, and that is a solid league all around. I'd gladly drop UMBC for any of these schools as well, but the regional little bro could work well for us.  Vermont can go join whatever league UNCW and CoC end up in; if that is what they want that. URI and Nova can follow us as FB affiliate members if they want or can go join the Patriot League like Richmond.

The OG CAA died when Hofstra, and NE dropped football - it hasn't been the same league since.  JMU, ODU, UD, VCU, Mason - all woke up and smelled the coffee; Why can't we?
