I'm starting to get a good feeling about some of these transfers and freshmen for next season. Coach Harper's WBB team in 2025-26 will be more like her alma mater, who lost every player in the portal. Of course, Maryland's men had a coaching change and that led to the entire team leaving. But with LH, she'll need a strong season assuming it's getting close to contract time. Let's remember that she didn't have her starting backcourt of Alexia Nelson and Patty Agnumba for the entire season due to injuries and both left for the portal.

*Tilda Sjökvist 5-7 guard from Missouri, but started out at Presbyterian, where she averaged 12.2ppg and 3.5apg. 41% FG and 34% 3pt in two seasons there. Didn't play much at Mizzou. Potential starting PG

*Hannah Dereje, 6-3 transfer from Elon. A senior. 3.3ppg, 2.0rpg last season with 12 blocks. Likely backup behind 6-2 grad student Kayla Morris.

*Asya Barnes, 6-0 freshman from Turkey/DME Academy

*Zoli Khalil, 6-0 junior guard from Richmond who spent two seasons at VCU. Last year, she averaged 8.5 ppg and shot 44.6% from 3-point range. Potential starter at small forward.

*Aidan Langley, 6-1 freshman from Coatesville, PA

*Viki Matulevicius, 5-8 guard from South Dakota. R-freshman. Did not play last season.

*Nadeya Regala, 5-9 freshman from Elizabeth Seton HS

*Thalia Shepard, 5-9 junior from Merrimack. Avg 13.6 ppg and 4.3rpg on 39.4% shooting. Competing for wing spot.

*Jaymee Wadey, 6-2 freshman from Australia.

*Jillian Watson, 5-7 freshman guard from Chesterfield, NJ.

Returners:

G Semaya Turner (senior)

C Kayla Morris (grad)

G Masyn Marchbanks (senior), 5-8 transfer from Samford who averaged 8.4ppg in her sophomore season. Played just two games last season (injury).

G India Johnston, senior. Played point guard last season and averaged 12.5ppg and 2.5apg on 34.7% 3-point shooting.

G Shariah Baynes, 5-6 sophomore.

Honestly, it doesn't look like a contender on paper, but should be much improved. Have no clue how freshmen will adjust or which freshman will be the Khady Leye of the team. Of all the losses and transfers, her loss hurt the most. She was a 6-2 freshman who averaged 9.9ppg and 7.2rpg. Tough to replace the rebounding part. Don't know who will step up as a rebounder. But can they be a worse 3-point shooting team than last season (29.4%). No, they can't be worse.
