  1. Skill development is lacking at TU. Kid are not getting better from year one to four or five. The problem is Skerry recruits a certain type kid, physical and athletic. That fits his style of play. I don’t think Skerry can put high IQ, highly skilled players in a position to succeed. So you have to be able to develop the kids you recruit. Your offensive philosophy in today’s basketball can’t be exclusively attack the basket, get offensive rebounds and out attempt the other team from the free throw line. Might be good enough to win some games but not conference championships.

  2. Skerry only appears to be able to coach one way. When your entire offensive strategy is attack the basket, get offensive rebounds and make freethrows you’re are not going to get very far. It may win you some games but it won’t win you big games when coaching and skill matter. Skerry needs to get better before his players can get better.

  3. I was encouraged by what I saw from these Tigers. The one thing that bothers me and has bothered me is the lack of running offense to get shooters open in the halfcourt. I think this can be a good shooting team but it appears the only way they’ll get good looks against good defensive teams will be in transition. As for the freethrows I believe they’ll improve as the season goes on and they settle down. Think nerves played a big part of the poor performance. I’ve been there. Only thing that matters is getting better for CAA.
