    Yup, for many years people said the CAA was the SEC of the FCS. I think the MVFC has taken over within the last couple of years that but until recently it was only NDSU then a huge drop-off. The other Dakota schools have improved recently to give them the crown IMO.

    Before the A10/CAA, run as the best conference the Big Sky would have been the best in the mid 90's. Appy State won a bunch and had the Michigan before they moved up to FBS but Appy State was really the only team in the SoCon of any value.  If you look at the national championship games for the last twenty years it was more likely than not a CAA team playing Appy State in the 00's and NDSU on the 10's.

    MVFC = SEC
    CAA = Big 10
    Big Sky = ACC
    Southland = Big 12
    After that hard to tell, maybe the Ivy League is the Pac 12. Hard to know because the Ivy does not do the playoffs so it's only a handful of OOC games to start the season for comparisons.

    Thank you ! I am now starting to get the CAA and Towson vibe.

    Delaware and JMU both made semifinals in the spring. There is no real gimme in this league, but everybody is beatable outside of JMU. They've won 14 straight CAA games.

    Thank you! So JMU is the North Dakota State of the Valley and the CAA is also a powerhouse conference. This is great!! Can’t wait for the season!!!

    Jamal Gay tore his ACL in 2019. The staff loves him. Keyvon Bruton from Temple is that hybrid type of safety who can play some linebacker. SJ Brown started in 2019 and was solid. We also have 6-3 Robert Topps from Kansas who played mainly special teams in 2019 and was hampered by injuries. We have some talent there. Just a matter of finding the right combo.

    Great thank you! I hear SJ Brown is a savage tackler! Looks like good depth as well.

  4. Again, I do not know much about this team but from what I can see is a coaching staff that is committed to making a legitimate playoff run. It seems the approach chosen is to utilize the transfer portal talent to do so. I read some postings in which some thought that transfers are kids that weren’t going to start at their other schools, definitely not true. Due to COVID and getting the extra year, the transfer portal is at record numbers and there are many players who needed a change to revive their motivation, position coach left, wanted to try to go power 5, and or graduated and wanted a new challenge.

    My son would have started for sure but his position coach left and he felt he reached his highest potential with his past coaching staff.
    i can’t say for sure the approach this staff is using will be the answer for this team but I can say for sure that they raised the competition for spring and are raising the competition for fall camp.
    I have also seen where FBS transfers come in and compete but do not beat out current FCS starters.
    Simply, it looks like to me Coach is taking an educated gambling approach in which the odds are in favor of some great competition and all the players, transfers and current will need to bring their A game!
    I predict we will be strong contenders in the playoffs. Again, never even watched a CAA game, just a hunch😊
