Agree with you. Had we not won against Delaware I would say Siddle. But after the win and the turnaround , not winning the league in forever ..

Agree to the mask comment. Same attendance thing we have dealt with for 15 years. 
 

Great grind out win. In prior years we lose this game. Glad to see us pull it out. 

I agree. However one thing not spoken of is the younger generation just does not care much about sports. I’m not saying all of them just a large number. Many of my friends with children in elementary-high school just don’t care about sports and are not interested in anything sport related. Of course you would think they would be interested if they played sports but those numbers are dwindling nation wide as well. It sucks we can’t get a fraction of our student body there but I really think many younger college kids just generally don’t care. 

Agree. Last 30 sec was very poorly executed from coaching standpoint. Should have won but once again we cannot pull out a big game. Unreal. 

Interesting description of the arena. I am still blown away the only thing we offer at concessions are pretzel, hot dogs and chips. There are more options at my local hs games. 

Good to see us make FTs. Has always been an issue in the past.

Also , I keep hearing well “we were ranked preseason 10th” should be happy to make it to playoffs. Sorry but we haven’t been to playoffs in 5 years. That excuse is over with. The goal every year should be playoffs, if it’s not than there’s an even bigger problem.  We had a decent season saved by Tom Flacco. Hopefully TL hears enough that we finally get some coordinators that know what they are doing.

Still have not seen much promoting this game. Will need students to show up. Hopefully there are signs , marketing dept on campus with a presence. 

Hopefully we pick up marketing soon. Haven’t seen much. This would be the game you go over budget for TL. 

Townson v Elson

I was in the alumni lot for homecoming and did not have one problem at all. We brought in coolers full of beer and not one issue. There were a lot of younger students/alumni and it seemed there were no problems. 

I appreciate you asking the questions as I know it must be tuff especially if no one else is. But someone has to ask the hard questions even if it is not you. If he was at a bigger school with more press he would be drilled. 

Teams do help draw , but in my mind it’s a culture issue at Towson. How does the athletic department get kids to come to games and make it fun? When I was there 04-07 they consistently drew large student crowds who atleast stayed through halftime and we played lesser opponents than now. . Let’s face it, we aren’t scheduling better than what we have this year so we need to figure something else out. Tailgating did deter many from coming out and tailgating -what every other college football school does. Also a police state does not help Tim Leonard. Yes let’s make sure things do not get out of hand but let college kids be college kids and enjoy tailgating. Just my own opinion. 

All good points, when you say 6k on campus I’m pretty sure that is maximum capacity currently ? Last few articles I read was that converting the Marriott into dorms and new apartment construction in Towson was solely meant for Towson students. If you expand the radius 5 miles from campus I would bet we have a huge percentage in off campus housing of which I wouldn’t consider “commuters”. College football in general is having a tuff time with attendance, look at other CAA boards they are having the same discussions. It really comes down to gameday atmosphere/marketing. That’s why the Ravens are doing everything possible to make the game day atmosphere better than sitting at home and watching TV. There was a significant drop off in marketing after the first game. What did they think was going to happen? Same discussions since I graduated in 07 but we actually had people coming to the games and tailgating.
