  1. Fresh off the presses, here is Jerry Palm's updated Bracketology projection (1/31) with none other than our Tigers pegged as a 14 seed and taking on the Texas A&M Aggies. I fully understand this updated and revised virtually every day by Jerry pending game results and changes in conference standings and that it just happens to be our turn as the designated CAA placeholder-bid.......but I think most of know how this season is going to end. 2025 NCAA Tournament Bracket Predictions - Bracketology - College Basketball - CBSSports.com
  2. Looks like Carter turned some heads during Hula Bowl practice. Thinking there’s a strong chance he finds himself in an NFL training camp this summer. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2025-hula-bowl-takeaways-highlighting-the-biggest-standouts-from-college-all-star-showcase/amp/
  3. There's just something different about the kids at these upper midwest & "fly-over state" programs. The Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, etc.....I know it's a stereotype but I can't help but think that a lot of these kids have been bailing hay on their family farms since they were 6 years old and have developed a work-ethic and discipline that a lot of east coast, big-city kids don't have. They play with a selflessness.....very little, if any "look at me" showmanship....just hard-nosed, disciplined football. NDSU has built a machine. You either buy into the philosophy and approach of the machine or you can't play for them.
  4. I’m very intrigued by the Neugebauer hire if only for his ties to Slippery Rock. As I’ve mentioned a few times in the past the HC at SRU, Shawn Lutz, has an unbelievable coaching record (still can’t understand why he hasn’t moved up to a bigger program) so anyone who comes from his “tree” is a welcomed addition, in my opinion. The Phelps hire is less inspiring. Seems like Pete is just going with a familiar/easy/cheap option.
  5. “We couldn’t get over the hump….” A perfectly concise summary of Skerry’s time at Towson.
  6. Maybe the best free marketing Towson has ever received. #TUpenant #TowsonLogo https://www.barstoolsports.com/video/3534719/barstool-pizza-review-tinybrickoven-baltimore-md
  7. That’s a shame about Mike Rowe. Wonder what his gripe is with the school. I’m intrigued by your reference to a mysterious wealthy donor. Are they well known? Should I know who this person is?
  8. Certainly not an exciting schedule but let’s be honest, on paper, it lends itself well to a legitimate shot at the playoffs.
  9. Does anyone know how connected, if at all, alumnus Mike Rowe is to TU? I know he doesn’t have “A-list” celebrity money but he’s clearly done very well for himself. He’s not shy about his pride and love for his Baltimore roots….does that extend to his time at Towson? He’s a big sports fan from what I understand. He’d probably be able to stroke a nice check to our collective/NIL funds…..or, let’s say, enough to cover a coach’s contract buy-out??
  10. Agreed. Also, no more hiring of “Pats” or “Mikes” as basketball coaches. Between Kennedy/Skerry and Hunt/Jaskulski, I think we’ve exhausted our Pat & Mike quotas and they haven’t worked out well.
  11. Well, on the bright side we’re only 8 months away from the football season.
  12. Someone please make this nightmare end!
  13. I went back into the archives and found my very first post on this fan board…..from almost 7 years ago. Amazing how applicable, relevant and timely it is all these years later.
  14. At the end of the 2010 season we were 1-10. At the end of the 2013 season we were playing for a national championship. Fortunes can change pretty quickly in football particularly in this transfer era and in this watered-down CAA.
  15. For what it might be worth, my local kid who is built like and can throw and run like a young(er) Josh Allen is looking for a school. Can someone get his info to Coach Pete and staff? https://x.com/qbc_atlanta/status/1866225976063193593?s=46&t=fR0BE-ZSjjxLQwcKb42n4w
  16. Nice size.
  17. This is really cool news….and don’t be so quick to count-out our Tigers. We could be title contenders by 2027.
  18. I’m going to refrain from making any more comments on our men’s basketball team until March.
  19. It’s no secret that I’d very much like to see a change in leadership for our MBB team. It’s long overdue. Having said that, Pat Skerry is a very likeable guy. I just wish his postseason and non-conference success were greater because he’s easy to root for and I like to see good things happen to good people. He’s a good person.
  20. How often does a kid pick TU over UNC, Va Tech, Duke or WVU?? Would love to know how what convinced him to pick Towson. (Love that he did!)
  21. Big picture, I’m encouraged by the direction of the program under Coach Shinnick. The reality is he was hired by TU on December 11, 2022 which means he didn’t have an opportunity for a December signing period and only had about 6 weeks to cobble together recruits to sign in February of 2023. I give him a total pass for that recruiting class. He’s really only had one true recruiting class, the guys he signed in December 2023/February 2024. He and his staff have been active in the transfer market and have brought in a few nice contributors through “free agency” so far. Really looking forward to seeing what this staff can bring in with a second full year of recruiting activity. There has been YoY improvement with win/loss record and as noted earlier, we were painfully close to getting 8 wins this season if not for a couple of missed FGs and that dropped “gimme” of a TD pass against Villanova. I like that he’s not afraid to make changes on his staff as we saw with the OC position last week. I do think the training wheels come off in season 3 and the team should be expected to make a legitimate run at the conference title and claim a playoff spot. Go Tigers!
  22. No biggie but I think he’s from FAU.
  23. Ol' K.C. Keeler making a return to the mid-Atlantic. Smart hire by Temple. Guessing there may be a few recruiting battles between Temple & Towson in the near future.
  24. Just noticed this post/update. I'm very pleased Coach Pete didn't waste any time and made the change quickly after the season. I have faith he'll make a quality OC hire. Excited to see what type of recruiting class he pulls together!
