FWIW, Cincinnati fans were melting down on Twitter and calling for the coach to be fired at halftime. Time will tell if the Bearcats are any good but I came out of this game feeling optimistic about our season.

I think you need to manage your expectations. We all want Towson to prioritize and excel at athletics, that’s why we post on this forum. However, the vast majority of students and alumni are apathetic when it comes to Towson sports. I don’t like it anymore than you do but that’s the reality for us and it’s the reality for most schools that find themselves sharing the market with Power 5 teams and Pro teams. I can dream but I don’t think Towson will ever be the Gonzaga of the east coast. Until you can temper expectations you will always find yourself disappointed with the result. Just my two cents.

Moving to FBS doesn’t always go as planned. ODU has been anonymous since moving up. JMU however already has a Top 25 football team in FBS. Lots of factors involved.

I still think it’s too early to proclaim Shinnick a bad hire. Things weren’t always rosy with Gordy and Rob and there were some mind boggling losses with them as well. I’m one of those that pretty much wrote this season off before it began. Need I remind you that Ambrose went 3-19 in his first 2 seasons.
