disappointed, but.....am I the only one that is "OK" losing to a top 25 team by a bucket in OVERTIME?  WTF / SMH  CofC is really good, we were right there.....and now two pages of "what is wrong"????   TOWSON......TOWSON...not Duke gents.  I'll ride w/ these players and coaches if we are playing teams like this down to the wire.

sucks not having gibby (spreads the floor so much just being on it) and the turnover issues are real; but May & Conway are going to get better faster w/ more mins.

Ton of things to work on and ton of hoops left.  but this isn't a stock you should sell right now.  (get over the preseason chatter/rankings... now meaningless).  this team is going to be good....right there in da mix, AGAIN, when the CAA tournament comes around.   bring on da dragons .........

  2. catching-up on some light 2022 reading before the calendar turns; jeez the negative nancys have been busy bees !      Tigers start the year 5-0; and its basically a buncha " big deal....who cares....NCAA or bust...wake me when the CAA tournament starts" comments (#miserables)     then tigers drop a few in a row and its "sky is falling, we stink, CH isn't that good (laughable/ignorant) , NT isn't that good (really?/smh) and such ........ while i dont agree with either (they all do matter...and they sky isn't falling)  .....id like to at least see the haters be consistent.    pretty-plse?

so for "only the CAA tournament matters / NCAA or bust guys......happy new year - enjoy the NBA/NFL - and i look frwd to your comments in March !!!

for the rest (some who might actually like a team that consistently wins more (quite a few more) than they lose) .....giddy-up for tomorrow.  HUGE/ EXCITING league opener v a stacked opponent.

1-1 night. Wm gets blown out by nc state and Charleston blows out ODU. Looks like the cougars will be coming to Tiger town on New Year’s Eve 12-1 with their only loss at unc opening night

And they played UNC very close for a bit in that one.....ugg

Might be the only fanbase that would take a dump on winning a regular season championship and earning a ring for those efforts.

    Fanbase= Nah, no way

Couple of malcontents that post a lot with (what appears to be) constant poo in their pants = Sadly, YES

    bring on Albany !!!!!!!

Good win. Definitely not the Skerry teams of the past and look forward to a regular season title. However I beg to differ if we get the regular season title along with this excellent turnaround AND lose in the CAA tourney, will the season be considered a failure?

hilarious - going into battle for the 'chip; while riding an incredible run - and ya just can't help yoself.  lol.  you musta LOVED the 1-31 season. smh

Spiro is fantastic. Not many guys can do play-by-play for football, basketball, and lacrosse and know what they are talking about. With that being said the color analyst for basketball has been weak this year.

I dont like Spiro .....FCUKING LOVE Spiro !!!  he's great/hilarious and carry da show solo if need be.  extend spiro, extend skerry/clark/oconnell, extend da band  !!!!!!!!!!

  7. amazing what some accuracy from da field will do 2da cranky-panted boobird "fans" on dis chat  !  if we only had some positive guy(s) talkin about da talent, chemistry, ball movement, and ability to have multiple players score double figures wayyyyyyy long ago; like after the Albany game? hmmmm    (this is where '2012 buys me beers, Atlanta eats crow, and tualum stops, well likely only takes a break, from being such a negative nancy......grab Matt a 6pack too plse)).

anywho, its been awesome to watch, and i hope it continues.  (and fear not you seemingly converted "skerry-ball-pessimists", and i have saved plenty-o seats in the front of the bus/positive section.  Defend and rebound every game; ....and make some shots dis team got a chance in DC.           Charles for President !!!!!!     BIG Saturday

I know this was a team effort and most everyone played great, but it felt like Charles Thompson singlehandedly imposed his will on this game in the first 6-7 minutes. He was scoring, blocking shots and getting defense rebounds he didn't event have good position to grab. I thought his physical dominance set the tone for the game early on and Elon was not ready to match his physicality.

I want to be 95% positive about this, my only slight bit of negativity is when he was going for some of those rebounds there were plays that bad officials might call ticky tack fouls on in the future. He is rapidly becoming the heartbeat of this team in conference play, and making sure he doesn't get in early foul trouble will be a key to our success. That being said, another positive from this game was that Timberlake and Holden sat most of the first half with foul trouble and we still rolled to victory.

The last two games Terry Nolan Jr. has shown us why we were all hoping he would get healthy. He does so much from a ball movement standpoint, but more than anything him being in the game at full strength allows everyone to play their roles. Nobody feels like they have do too much and everyone seems to let them game come to them. That is the way this team needs to play, because there will be off shooting nights. It is important that when that happens, those players figure out other ways to affect the game and we figure out plan B, C and probably sometimes D. As with any team, we are much better at that when this roster is at full strength.

Finally, I was listening to the Three-Man Weave podcast (episode #249, https://www.three-man-weave.com/podcasts). At around the 36-minute mark they talk about tough mid-major teams that people would not want to face based on the ESPN analytics formula of low turnovers and high offensive rebounding rate that John Gasaway has used as part of his giant-killers segment. They mentioned Towson as one of five teams along with Chattanooga, Iona, Murray State and one other I can't remember.

I realize there is a long, long, long, long way to go before having any of those discussions, but still was fun to hear. Those guys have showered love on Skerry and the Tigers all year. I have heard us mentioned 3-4 times this year in a positive light on their podcast. I think I mentioned this before, but I am always impressed that they can actually talk about Towson in a fairly educated way when they are doing a broad podcast about college basketball. Anyways, just wanted to share in case anyone wanted to listen.

    NICE...TY (for the 3manweave pod)

  9. IDK.  we take more 3s this year than in the past (thank god), and we do so cause we have more shooters.  so, we might beat a team or two we "aint suppose to beat" cause we make some long ballz.  but guess what, might lose a couple as well when ya have a TERRIBLE shooting night.  goes both ways.  miss-make, that happens.  I want/like Gibby & Riz taking as many good/open 3s as possible.  And you want Timber, Nolan,Gray and the rest taking good ones in the flow of the offense.  they missed a BUNCH - we lost.  you want Gibby to NOT shoot?, go into a shell? he aint out there for his lockdown defense and rebounding.  shitty game/result - sucks.  few weeks ago it was HOLDEN FOR PRESIDENT (or maybe that was just me?), now we "dont have a goto player"/"seen this before".    ugg.  Charles Thompson > Bill Russell

    Tigers 70

    Blue Hens 64

Yeah, we won but they were to bad teams.  Jeez dude, do you ever enjoy a win??  You make a wet blanket just seem damp.

lol, good point.  but wait til AtlantaTiger finds his Ipad, even worse. Despite every announcer talking about how well coached & balanced we are (and the decade & a 1/2 of losing prior 2 these coaches n players) ...he still wants to fire everyone & the players all stink.   lol.           but i think 2012 is gonna come around; he's gonna buy me an ice cream when our entire rotation gets 15pts !    come on Charles !!!!

  11. pains me to agree w/ 2012 lol, but this one feels like a 15-20 L.  CT & Cam a bit small to hit those hooks against the Dons.  We'd need to hit the long ball well, to very well tonight....and just not enuff scoring power/options without Gibby & Rizz.  Would need everyone playing well & shooting well.

routing for the win; investing for the loss.    #hopeiamwrong.  happy thanksgiving

  12. dont mind me, just here to make lemonade (tricky task with this group !)

We lost in a close game, AT PITT.  which is historically, and STILL is a tough place to play.  (FYI - we covered, again. 3-1 ATS).  I realize Pitt is down  ...but did anyone REALLY have a "W" pencilled in AT PITT (if so, lol....you are in for a looong year).

2021 - not 100% sure of my exact quote, but stand by the thesis:  we got several guys that CAN get 15 on any night (not avg, that would be a dream).  its a small sample size, but you should be able to see the skill level & ability of the guys that can:  Holden, Nolan, Timber, Gibson (cant imagine you'd argue with those 4); and with a decent 3 ball/free throw night, you can add Rizz, Gray, and CT????   I'm just saying, GREAT balance here, like we got good players.  some in the past were just painful to watch.  weight lifters and not ballers.   I wasn't arnd for the Benimon years (have seen highlights,..MONSTA !) - but you gotta like this team more than any since him....no?

and AtlantaTiger; looks like I'm gonna need to add vodka to your lemonade (and/or assist w/ the dump in yur pants):  The entire board is talking about improved talent (coaches apparently hit the transfer wire hard) and ball movement/pace-of-play and you wanna blame the coach after losing AT PITT. 4 games in, conf play yet to start.....hang in there, they aint gonna win'm all, but its gonna be a fun team that will be well north of their pre-season conf ranking.

if anyone needs some positivity arnd the holidayz....i'm be here.  and (may not surprise you), i like our chances v UPENN !

Wow, I hope you placed that bet. Too bad over here in Maryland we voted in favor of sports gambling over a year ago and they are dragging their feet to pass the bill. Get all the gamblers invested in towson bball! Good teams win, great teams cover!

Good teams win, great teams cover!     yes sir !!!!!!!     next up, monmouth.

  14. fine...guilty...you are right....i'll do better.    this year stinks so far, but its all bananas via covid.  who knows.  im trying to enjoy, and tired of the miserable/old-head pricks.  I get it, you wanna cut and fire everyone.  feels like those 3 guys should just meet at da bar and have that talk, and stop posting the SAME THING.     but the pitch folks for the players and coaches when i joined this chat last year was crazy for me....like; .....seems like these tiger coaches rescued things from the absolute bottom of the barrel.  BOTTOM.  i'll sport my colors w pride, but this aint my first choice school if i could pick......win more then lose and be in the mix - aint that the idea?  i agree the lack of CAA tournament success sucks, and i wish we had more 3 pt shooters, and pressed more...and other stuff---but , get a grip.   We got  some ballerz you guys dont appreciate, especially the sophs.  And CT, Zane, Gib, U brothers , timberlake are good players....so dont pound them.   IDK.   i guess i have a diff idea what a fan is.... whatever.   i'll be watching tomorrow.....taking the points on the Tiger, and give'm on the Chiefs

double OT heart-breaker.  GREAT game to watch as a bball fan, big bummer result as a tiger.  i'll be on Flo again tomorrow hoping for a win.  the live chat was fun; and gotta say; nice to be free from your negativity.  "bump"..."embarrassing"..."fire everyone"...."this kid cant play".....gosh u r a miserable pile of dog sheet.  (P.S.  we covered)
