May and Tejada start at the same time. They are serviceable three point shooters at 35%. Neither are Timberlake or Conway. Tejada isn’t explosive athletically but he can get to the rim. They need to run more of the offense through him. This team isn’t going to change at this point. They can be a better offensive team by going inside-out waiting for a double team and then kicking it out. If not, hammer it inside. The good teams in this league have more than just good shooters; they have guys who are willing to make the extra pass.

Alright, not in the mood and maybe because I'm under the weather, and I have no emotions for this game, kind of like Tejada. But here goes the Good, Bad, and Ugly Good *Not a lot about Charles Thompson was 2022 CT with 17 points and 14 rebounds *May's first half. *SulaiJones had 17 points and five rebounds. They weren't bad and also did a half-decent job on Trazerian White, who was 3 of 14 but 10-of-11 from the line (of course). That's about it. Bad *May's second half when he just couldn't make an open shot *5 for 20 from 3pt. Tarke was 0-for-6. But not all his fault. Ugly *19 turnovers. 10 in the first half. They did nothing special other than press up on the ballhandlers. Everyone turned it over. It wasn't just one player.. *Tarke's shooting (0-for-10). I don't mind the drives, but at some point, he needs to stop shooting 3s unless he's wide open and there 2 seconds on the shotclock. He's not finishing drives either. *Seven assists. That's brutal. What happened to moving the ball around? WTF would we play like that against NC A&T and not UNCW? I know UNCW is a much better team but you can still make the extra poss.

That's why I write the headlines. And wait a few minutes before the game ends to calm myself, but was not shocked at the outcome. Even if we got the 4th seed, we're probably not beating them 3 straight times.

The Tigers improve to 18-12 overall and 11-6 in the CAA, while the Aggies fall to 5-12 in the CAA. TowsonKind of tough to recap a game with no boxscore and there were no live stats the entire night. But watching this game, Towson was ready to play against an inferior opponent unlike the Hampton game and the Pirates are actually playing decent ball after beating Monmouth tonight. But it all comes down to UNCW on Saturday. Charleston will win the CAA regular season title again and take the top seed. UNCW falls to 11-6 with their loss to Hofstra tonight, who moves to 12-5 along with Drexel. Hofstra has the tiebreaker and they play Charleston at the end. Even if they fall to 12-6, they beat Towson once, so they would get the higher seed. Drexel is 12-5 and a loss to Northeastern at home means 12-6. If Towson loses to UNCW, none of that matters. If they win and Drexel loses, they could get third, but the only important thing is beating UNCW to get to fourth. More later about the game.

Paar had 4 assists and 6 pots. Wonder of that assist total was a career-high. Won rebound battle 51-27. Aggies tho 33.3% from the field and 3-of-18 from beyond the arc.

So it's Charleston winning the regular season at 14-3 with Hofstra coming up at home. Hofstra is 12-5 and tied with Drexel for 2nd place. Does Charleston have anything to play for? Not really. But they don't want to lose Senior Day at home. Delaware is 10-7 but personally, does it matter if you are 5th or 6th place? Not really.

No post game quotes again as the broadcast was once again situated upstairs. Either way, Spiro is not going to ask a head coach walk up the stands after the game, especially one who had hip replacement surgery a few years ago. I thought Towson played the way they should have played the last month and helped them beat Charleston on the road. That was by impressive ball movement and making the extra pass. No stats, but I assume we had double digits assists tonight. Tarke and May had it going early and that was needed. It got sloppy in the second half, but that happens sometimes when you get a 34 point lead. It's rare on the road to get one so it was nice to see. But if you play the right way, you can make more than 2 threes. Might not shoot 50% but at least you get clean looks and are in rhythm. On to UNCW.

I know I'm going to be ostracized for defending PS, but I don't give a f-ck. Yes, the 18-win season or whatever isn't a big deal anymore. Neither is 20 wins. Beating Drexel, UNCW at home and Charleston on the road doesn't count apparently. Those are good wins. Delaware on the road. Not bad. And yes, the Hampton loss was beyond terrible, I'm not into the regular season doesn't count bullshit. It does. Seedings and double-byes matter in this league. Tournament performances have been bad. No defense for that other than the first Benimon season because they were ineligible. Who knows what the team could have accomplished? After that, it's been one or two and done as has been mentioned 8 million times. The offense has been atrocious this season and the player they missed the most was Holden, because he ran the offense and helped Timberlake get good looks. Is that on the coach and his staff that the offense has been so stagnant this season? I criticize the offense basically in every loss so of course I think it is. Next off-season, something needs to change and I say it every season. It starts with pace, but when you watch the great ball movement of Charleston, the ball never sticks. I don't care how good your defense is, when you move the ball that quickly and that well, you can beat a good or average defense. Every coach in the CAA gets criticized. It's part of the job. The UNCW fans after the Campbell game were not thrilled. Siddle should win Saturday against us, but he's 1-5 against Trowson. My biggest problem is when I watch the CAA this season and last and see a player I'd love to have in a Towson uniform: Trazerian White, Shakeim Phillips, Tyler Thomas, Jameer Nelson Jr., Darlinstone Dubar, Aaron Estrada, Kobe Rodgers, Justin Moore, etc. It's a guard league and a wings league. Can Tejada, Lowery, Williamson or Cole become one of those guys? I'm not seeing it, but I can see one or two of those guys becoming very productive players in the future. We just need that freakin' star and we probably can't get that guy in the portal due to our NIL situation. So we have to develop it. Staff change? Recruiting more shooters? Recruiting less bullies and more athletic and lengthy players in the portal as well? If you told me during the summer after the legal situation with Conway and the ACL injury to Watson, they'd we'd have a longshot of getting a top four seed in the final weekend, I'd probably be ecstatic, not thinking that we'd lose to Hampton on the road and beat Charleston on the road in the same season. Not trying to make this season half-full, but also trying to put things in perspective.
